Excellent update. You were much nicer to Riley. You made him obviously clueless, withlut making it into one big "dumb-Riley" cliche. And Spike succumbs to his true nature? Do you mean the incredibly sweet and REAL image of him doing laundry at an all nite laundromat or the incredibly sweet, yet mildly creepy checking up on his girls? Love the chap. Good luck with writing the next.

Author's Response: I was thinking the milding creepy checking up on his girls... but yeah, the laundry thing is sweet. Wait til he tells Buffy about his blood stain removal techniques...

Ugh Riley. I'm not fond of him either... nor did Buffy like the way he was questioning her. Dawn is right, Buffy isn't a 'normal' girlfriend, never will be.
Yeah, Spike would have noticed Buffy's outfit. I wonder if Riley really didn't see nothing. And how long it will take Buffy to see that Riley isn't the right one for her.

I was about to come back and post a review once I was almost half-awake, but when I saw you only had 1 review per 16 hits, I thought you deserve to have more recogntion. You are doing a great job (especially considering your mothering duties added to RL) and you are writing a very entertaining story. Love the way Buffy bristles at Riley when he judges her and pushes her for more than she's willing to give. And Dawn is great with the insights about Riley not noticing Spike's clothes, etc. Looking forward to more Spuffiness, and all the head-rushing dizziness that might ensue!

I'm really enjoying this story so far and hope you'll update fast and often...
It's always fun to meet Spike's inner William and a good dose of poetry doesn't hurt, either.
Let's just hope that the demon learns when to shut the f*** up while William courts Buffy... *beat* Nah....

I love this story! I really like the part where she found him in the library reading. Just one thing though, where's Riley? I mean, not that I like him or anything - hate him, in fact. But he's like this weird stalker guy who shows up at Buffy's house everyday...okay maybe that's a bit exaggerated, but shouldn't she at least remember him in the "Who? Riley? ...oh right... he's still my .boyfriend, sort of." way, while thinking of giving Spike a chance?

Author's Response: Yeah, you're right. I just hate Riley so much that I "forget" to put him in. But you'll see him soon, if briefly. My goal is to let him make an appearance and then get rid of him as soon as possible. (lol) I really can't stand him! Thanks for reading and reviewing. My readers all seem to have respect for the series and that makes me better about trying to be true to the characters even when I HATE them.... Sd

Oh my.. Spike sounds as if he gets depressed. But maybe being invited to stay will reassure him.
Even if he didn't stay... but he was happy at the end of the chapter :) Maybe looking forward to help Buffy with her poetry?

Brilliant update, but yes, I missed this one. Kids are like that, though. :) Loved, loved, *loved* how frustrated she was when he didn't kiss her. And I love how she sees the man inside that he tries to protect with his "Spike" bravado. Great update!
