Really great story. You seem to be touching a lot of people with this one- I guess everyone has experienced the kind of pain Buffy and Spike are going through. I hope their story turns out better than some of my experiences. Which is one of the great things about fiction, of course :)

this story is great but it has taken a rather depressing turn as of late.

"Because the pain was worth it. Anything was worth it to get to know her."--So beautiful, and how brave of him to live that way. He stands ready to lose more than most ever even have and he still stands. I'm impressed by him, and I guess I'm impressed by Buffy's desire to seve that higher purpose. But she can't knock love. I really think it's worth more than she gives it credit. And what happens now that he's written the whole thing. What's to come tomorrow... Amazing chapter, can hardly wait for more.

I typically love your stories. They range from good to fantastic. This one is the best you've ever written (IMHO of course). The thing is, what's going on in this story is how I feel almost every single day. I know that one day someone I love is going to be taken from me through death, and this rips me apart to think about. I try not to, but I can't help it. Sometimes it cripples me so that I'm not enjoying the time that I do have. It's difficult sometimes to cope. I understand their pain, as I'm sure everyone reading this does. I feel for this Buffy and William. They clearly belong together and don't see a way that they can make it happen. It's heartbreaking.

As always ... beautifully written, emotionally draining, moving and gripping. As I read, I am continually praying to the God of fanfiction that there is a happy, happy ending.

I really love it when the updates come so quickly :)
Too bad for them the knowledge of living on borrowed time to be on the forefront. So Spike is trying to make some memories now because he knows what is bound to happen very soon. In a way so sad. Spike will have to learn to live with his jealousy and without Buffy like she has to live without him. And Buffy wants to stay a muse? She knows what she must do then; leave, sooner than later and follow her calling. It's heartbreaking indeed. In asking Buffy to stay even if he knew he didn't have the right, at last he tried all he could do.
And Spike's manuscript is finished now. I wonder too if Buffy has to go now or can stay till her month is over. ~ Sad but good chapter :)

Are they going to get the chance to say goodbye, or is she going to be pulled from him while he sleeps? I hope they get the chance to at least say goodbye.

This chapter was touching; it's sad to know they're going to be separated, and soon. However, I have faith that the end will be worth the wait.

What can I say, it's just so heartbreaking! She could be a teacher. Teacher's are inspiring. Well mostly.

What a melancholy chapter, and the last lie was ominous. The line "How could he sleep on sheets that no longer smelled of her" made my heart hurt.
