Seems as if Spike suspects now too that Riley is the murder.
Oh no.. someone tries to shoot Spike?
Not good indeed; Buffy is hurt too, leaving a trail behind. IF the murder gets past Spike he'll find her.
Good Spike has a bullet proof vest yet that doesn't save him from a shot in the head.. Evil cliffhanger today! Looking forward to the next part :)

That didn't suck at all! I can completely relate to making the man make the sandwich because he makes it best. ;) I loved how you had Spike say those 3 little words when she needed to hear them the most. Very great.

Oh, now that's just cruel and unusual to leave us hanging there with Spike...face-to-face with the bad guy...no idea what's gonna happen in the next second. Aargh, it's killing me...please undo the "pause" on this parting scene ASAP.
By the way - really fantastic writing - I've been hooked from the first chapter...great action, great dialogue, great characterization, great Spuffy (the blend of angst and fluff is just right).
Now, I fed author with praise - author let Spike save the day now? Please?
