Well, at least he feels like an ass when he acts like an ass. And he did a mighty fine job of eating humble pie! I like this characterization of Buffy-- seems like less baggage (but who knows). Her behavior and attitude will probably continue to take Spike off guard, and it's a refreshing change from the, "there's something wrong with Buffy" that is so (understandably) common in fanfic, since that is how she was portrayed on the show. I like that the person who would seem to have the most problems is the most easy going-- nice way to switch things up. I also like the way that she requests to be in Spike's home-- she must feel safe with him, and it will probably get Spike thinking of someone other than himself. A very good second chapter and set-up for the storyline. Looking foward to more!
