Im glad Buffy isn't falling for any of Spike's "charms" right away in this chapter. He has a lot to prove before she can trust that he is telling her anything close to the truth. He also needs to get his act together by himself for himself. I think Buffy will respond positively once she can see that Spike is actually trying to do "what is right".

If Spike hadn't gotten off on hurting so many women, I might have had some sympathy for him. But since he wants other people around him to hurt because he is, that's scary. Who's to say that he won't continue that trend with Buffy and Brandon? I hope he can get help or prove himself somehow and . . . .I'm geting ahead of myself and the story.

at least spike is trying!! that's all i can really say about it cuz this could just back fire on him when that bitch of a wife of his finds out. loved it soooooo much. please post soon. i wanna say that buffy is being way too hard on him but i know that that's not true. spike really doesn't deserve a second chance but he NEEDS one. hopefully buffy gives him one. he better work for it though. lol. great job. more please

At first I thought Buffy was being too hard on Spike this chapter, but then I reminded myself of the adage "fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me". She needs proof. And to respond to a point a reviewer made last chapter about Spike potentially fathering other children...gah...that thought alone makes me want to tell Buffy to run the hell away from this guy. Yikes! Well, we'll see how all goes in the coming chapters. : )

... baby steps ... at least he is making some sort of move in the right direction. No doubt that he is going to have to go through A LOT to prove it to Buffy. Not to mention his battle with Cecily and her family.

I like that even though Buffy is one tough cookie she still has a weak spot for William. ahhh destiny and romance ... sigh (SOL)

He really is a good guy who made many wrong choices. The guys who were nerds in high school are always the sweetest, most caring later in life (stilll have many as friends) I love that you incorporated that into his character.

So Doyle never told Buffy Spike was there. He is very protective of Buffy it seems. *wonders why*.
Buffy is lucky that Brandon sleeps so much.. ~ And now Buffy asked him if he left Cecily. And he answered truly that he didn't. In a way I can understand why Buffy doesn't want him around her baby if he is still with Cecily and acting like he is (though I think with a lawyer Spike would get the right to visit). And Cecily will find out about it if Spike keeps visiting Buffy. Especially if Spike doesn't give in to Buffy. But calling Buffy like Spike did? He earned that blow (hit). And Buffy is even more right with what she asked him after that. ~ Looking forward to hear Spike's excuse, so to say.

Okay, one more thing, I'm starting to wonder if some of you are even paying attention to the story. Spike is married to Cecily, not Drusilla. If they can't even get that right, it's hard to take any of them seriously. Again, continue what you're doing. You know I'm a devoted fan.

Okay, the two under me are completely out of line. How the hell is Buffy the wrong one here? Spike is the jerk and he's the slut for what he's doing. Buffy had every right to behave the way she did. Spike needs to grow up and get a pair. I'm completely on her side right now and I'm proud of the way she handled him. Continue with what you're doing, Brat. This is an excellent story.

Aaarrrggg! I really liked this story in the beginning, but now it's just getting so...messed up! If anyone needs therapy, it's Buffy. She's the one who was being abusive (yeah, he caled her a bitch, but she was being one) She slapped him! How is that not abuse! And how the heck can she say she's trying to get her life back on track if she's f***ing the first guy she's attracted to!?! She didn't even think to find out if he was married or not! And no wedding ring does not automatically equal not married...Duh! And, if Spike needs to grow a pair, it should be so he can stick up to Buffy. I am officially getting on the "Buffy's a raving bitch" train. Yeah, their relationship is screwed up, but Buffy is extremely out of line in this situation. She's a hypocritical, lying slut!

Author's Response: I did warn for extreme angst, so there was a possibility of it being "extremely messed up". I would slap someone if he called me a whore basically...lol. And if you've been reading, she does not have a pristine background, she has been trying to change, he however, has not. And no, it does not equal not married to have no wedding ring, but that can't exactly be considered her fault if he is not forthright with the information....Spike is a slut himself...but, thanks! :)

Jeez...Enter Buffy the Super Bitch! Something really huge and sharp must have crawled it's way up her scrawny ass. She's not even giving him a chance to say anything from his side. She's just like, "I am Mother! Hear me roar!" If she wasn't so self-centered and actually cared about Spike, she might like to know that he hasn't been able to leave Dru, even though he really wants to. And she's not even going to try to help him with it. I hope Buffy gets less Bitchy in later chapters...I'd hate for this fic to end badly for a stupid reason like that.

Author's Response: it can't be discounted that really, she does not know him well at all. She wanted to, but that opportunity was taken out of her hands once she found out he was married. Its not her responsibility at this point to help him with anything. From her perspective: He did this to himself. I'd have to somewhat agree with her on that. Just because it's Spike doesn't mean he's perfect either lol. They're both messed up, but I firmly believe that if you get yourself in a bad way, it's your job to get out of it, not anyone else's. It takes courage to say "I messed up" and then to do something about it. She's a mom now, and you see things differently when you're a mom. I guess I look at it as: If this were a real situation, how would they react? I doubt the fact that he's Spike would hold up. Thank you :)
