Absolutely loved it. Don't know how anyone else read it, or what you intended, but I was constantly expecting one thing to happen, and then something totally different occurred! It's hard to write a B/S story that surprises.

I would have liked for Spike to stake Dru, but I think now he's finally coming to his senses. I like Buffy's stubborness.

First: Great summary....I don't know about you, but for me those are always hard, so I thought I'd tell you that yours is great.

Wonderful start to the story--great job with the characters and setting everything up :)

Ooooooh me like! Very intense beginning and you can't go wrong with a protective (neanderthalic perhaps?) Spike in game-face can you? Looking forward to your next update. Oh and BTW - Is Buffy just strong here because of her martial arts training or is it something more?

Yup, can't get enough of protective Spike (and I think neanderthalic definitely describes it well :-) At the time when I wrote it, Buffy was able to push Spike off of her mainly due to her martial arts training, his being completely distracted, and pure adrenaline, but who knows....

Author's Response: oh--I just realized you probably meant when she punched the fledgling--*doh*--Well, same general idea, just without the complete distraction ;-)
