Very enjoyable - Ioved that you included the bed bugs, rancid smells and rotten teet- that made it so much more authentic. And while I do see some appeal to running away - eeewwww - no plumbing and no penicillin- I'll stay home thanks.

Thanks for giving us the epilogue. So Buffy tried to find out when Maria had died? I hope she lived a bit longer than everybody thought the would. And Spike still has the device? So maybe they'll go back at some point and find out :)

An absolutely grand time travel story-an unusual trip including wonderful characters.. The fate of Maria is so sad even though expected. The epilogue gave a tender moment for Buffy and Spike, too. Any more would be a bonus. Thanks.

Author's Response: Not quite sure what you didn’t understand. Spike had picked up the time travelling sphere from the fireplace when they left London. The implication is that they can use it again to go wherever they like.

I do love time travel fics... and this one seems to work very well, although I don't know enough about the period to judge how accurate it is.... Oh now that little revelation at the end definitely has pissabolities for sequels... more please!!!

Oh... the went to the secret doorway but the Majesty was already there. She has courage, I think, comes with her job... Ah, she wasn't careless, she thought her guards would watch her.. but when they were poisoned, somebody was already there.
Hehe.. the Queen took advantage to have a vampire near by *g*
Oh, the attack came through the doorway.. I didn't expect it. So it wasn't so secret after all.
Ah.. Maria did her share too. Without her the Queen would have been harmed.
And good Buffy was able to say goodbye to Maria. And even better, to give her a good advice on the way.
Mmm how did Cressida look like? And Toby Fletcher? Dru and Angel?
Buffy and Spike recognized them.
Good.. I feared the sun would come too fast for a vampire the be healthy, but they were in time. Even in time to get back :)) Glad to hear you'll make an epilogue too.

Author's Response: Maybe I was being a little too subtle! Right, who was turned in 1604 in Virginia, who was blonde and deadly and determined to get revenge on the ancestors of a tall, dark, guy who settled in Ireland by turning one of them?

I love that your fic has William Shakespeare himself as a lead character. And a Watcher at that!!
I love the idea- it's pure genius, I swear!
Plus, I love Buffy and Spike's relationship at this point- and I especially liked the part where Buffy mused over how dull her life is when Spike isn't around.

This is just great.

*nods* England has very vamp friendly weather indeed. (And I know I'm right about Will *gg*) (Oh and because the watchers have lines too = their siblings become often watchers too, I think there may even be a Giles in the council now.)
Oh good that Maria told Spike. Travers' didn't change through the times. He didn't want Will to tell them? Typical... but I hope they'll have enough time.

Is this Will perhaps William Shakespeare? He keeps saying Shakespearean phrases and he was alive during this time, if I'm not mistaken... Interesting... I hope I didn't just ruin it for other people, in case they haven't already guessed. Oh well. Great chapter, I can't wait to see more!

Oh! And I guess Spike didn't only see what Will meant, I think it dawned him too who Will is! He must have figured it out. Fleas in the bed? I wouldn't be too fond either to sleep in it *shudder* but it was common, yeah. Lol and it didn't stop Buffy ;-)

Ah.. so did it happen. The watcher made a ritual to call for help. Oh and Buffy makes an innuendo *g* Maria, the look of her, convince Buffy to help. Love this :)

Great concept.

Ooh, I really like this idea. I know, I know, time travel has been done before, but it's usually some accident and Buffy and Spike end up falling in love in hilarious comedic circumstances, but from what I've seen so far, it looks like there's actually some plot and action in this romance. So yay! I'll be looking for more!
