riley... I wonder what this jerk is going to do. And first argument between Spike and Buffy now they are a couple. If Buffy reacts like that everytime Spike has a mission, the poor guy wont survive :) Cant wait for the next chapter.

Just loving Buffy in this chapter. I hope she has many moments like these in the story. I'm glad Buffy wasn't as weak as i've read her in the last couple of chapters, but I do understand that she can't be what i feel every women should be all the time, she is in a very hard situation. So I understand she can't always be like she was in this chapter, but I'm happy as long as Spike doesn't overrule her entirely.
And Joyce really really needs some help, if she keep up what's she's doing she probably won't live much longer.
Loved that Spike was proud and the jealousy Parker had. That was a good moment.

Wow, is Spike going to control every step she takes from now on. That bothers me alot. I'm sorry if I sound whiny, but I read Buffy as an indepent girl who didn't liked when someone forced her into something. But she just accept the situation and let Spike just do whatever he wants. Sure he loves her and that's good and that he's going to protect her from Parker. But I still feel like he's going to control her a lot. Is she just going to accept that? Does she like to be treated that way? Or maybe it's just I who got the wrong idea and missunderstood the whole thing.

Author's Response: I completely understand your concerns and agree with the belief that Buffy is at the heart of her character independent and resilient. Despite this, she feels completely overwhelmed and unsure of her environment at the moment. As well as who to trust. Spike only likes her as far as she knows and thus she doesn't want to appear weak (i.e. refusing to enter her home). That being said, Buffy will soon regain her own 'spitfire' attitude and establish a more equal standing in her relationship with Spike. She is ultimately going to be slightly weaker in terms of gang respect simply because she isn't involved in any deals. Spike also has trust issues of his own which will impact how he treats Buffy. I don't like weak heroines and I certainly wouldn't do it to one of my favourite characters. Thankyou for the review and no you were not whining.
