It was great to get Buffy's perspective in this chapter. I know it's been present throughout the fic, but it seemed really satisfying in this chapter, for some reason. Probably because she's finally realizing what we as readers have known all along: that Spike is devoted to her, with or without the soul.

Great as always. Looking forward to the next chapter!

Holy shit, you made me cry! Oh, that whole interaction between her and Giles was just beautiful. I'm really excited you finished this story, but at the same time I don't want the ride to end! I am so happy you were able to write again. I know you have been totally busy. Great movement of the story. You are really bringing out many emotions of each character and putting it on the screen. I could feel how Giles was trying to put himself out of his watcher role and be buffy's segrogate father figure and friend. Spike doing what he could to help out and letting Giles on the bed with Buffy was huge. Buffy trying to hide herself away and not know what to do. I feel she maybe going to try to make the situation come out right. But I know you all to well and you love your angst....so i am sure you will delivering LOL. I say bring it on hun, i am ready.

Oh yeah, speaking of hectic.. I can totally understand this.
Yeah *gg* Would have taken the fun for Spike if he had himself made known. Shocking Giles was way more fun *grins*
Like disarming Giles ;-) Got Spike a nice dagger too.
And Giles really does care for Buffy. He did what he could to reassure Buffy even if that meant to include Spike.

So happy to see an update on this! What a wonderful and moving chapter. I felt like you perfectly wrote a Giles that was able to love the essence of Buffy, while still having him acknowledge that their relationship has changed completely. This:

"How could he blame her for what she had become when she was what she was because of him?"

Was brilliant - it makes me think of what parents must go through when their kids turn bad (drugs, , assault, murder, even) though they've tried to raise them the best they could. It rings really true and poignant.

Great chapter! I especially liked Spike calling Giles "Jeeves" -- I'm a Wodehouse fan. Good to know you've got the rest in draft form. I'm looking forward to reading more.
