Aww, so sweet! Poor William, wants Buffy but doesn't think she wants him. Maybe she doesn't--maybe she wants Spike. But she can fall in love with William for being William, right? And poor Buffy--her mother refuses to acknowledge her "dream world" and wants to keep her close all the time...I guess I can understand that. Beautiful story, I absolutely love it!

That's a good explanation William has there: .Your body was at the hospital. But your mind, it was somewhere else. ...I couldn't visit you there, as much as I wanted to, but I won't try to pretend you weren't there. Well said.
When Normal!Buffy 'went to Sunnydale' and became Slayer!Buffy, she (normal) and William lost a lot.

Author's Response: Actually I only had Buffy not remember William because it made sense that way. In the show she remembers her life in LA as it was, except for vague memories of Dawn being there. In this story it's the same. If Buffy in the show had had memories of an old friend named William, who just happened to look exactly like Spike, that wouldn't have made sense. But now that people keep bringing it up...I may have to consult Buffy and William and see what they say. I have a feeling they'll be quite vocal about it. : )

aww, sweet...and sad. why is he so insistent to deny any connection to Spike? odd. I liked this chapter a lot--them talking about her life in Sunnydale, the two of them bonding...it's perfect :-) can't wait to read more!!!

Six years.. and a whole different life. Buffy will need time to accept the new old world, to get used to it again. Glad he called William and is meeting him. I hope talking with him will help her.
