I'm glad he FINALLY left her. Maybe now some progress will be possible. He still doesn't know about Liam's abuse. Buffy's words were just crying out for help. If only Spike could be her knight in shining armor. Now there's a chance. Hopefully he takes it.

This is good-- while they both know that things aren't going to be easy, at least they're acknowledging their needs to themselves, if not to each other-- but then again, Spike sort of did at the end of the chapter. Only question is whether things are going to stay open between them in the future, and just how (if everything goes well) they're going to escape from Angelus. :) Loving the fic!

Hooo doggy, that was hot. I do miss the old William though, and I'm glad that Buffy can see that he isn't completely gone. I really hope that things can work out for them and it won't always be this dark . I totally respect the way that you want to do this story, and can see why you don't want Buffy to just leave Liam, because honestly in some cases that isn't the way it happens. You're right about that. Can't wait for another chapter to be up!

I have become just totally obsessed with this fic. Something about their shared misery and their fear and refusal to own up to each other about how much they care, it's just so sad and lonely. And it feels like Buffy's so close to being able to admit how she feels for him, and you just want Spike to be as sweet to her as you know he wants to be. Even though you know he's not ready for that yet, and Buffy's not ready to accept it from him yet. But man, I just want to give Buffy a hug in this fic.

Love it!
I really like the dualism you've set up here. Buffy in a physically and mentally abusive relationship and similarly she draws all the neglect she feels onto William. I don't think she means to but she treats him like crap and I can't wait to see how it's all going to unfold, and if they'll both stop being so stubborn and realize that they're perfect for each other beyond just comfort.

yeah....buffy going to a shelter would not work in this story. i just...wow. it was really hard for me to read this chapter cuz it reminded me so much of the show in s6. at least buffy's not causing physical damage. she's still using him though and that's gotta smart. i mean, spike may want her too but this has to piss him off, her doing this to him. i thought he'd give her a piece of his mind in this chapter but i guess you're saving that one for later (i hope). forget cheating on liam, buffy has got to know that hurting william like this is wrong.

okay...i'm done. lol. buffy's just really high on my shit list! lol. i can imagine that it's like that for a lot of your reviewers. anyway, love it bunches. can't wait for more. amazing job!!!

My initial thought was "no! don't touch the bedspread!". It is a rare talent that can make me forget my fear of cooties, but you, Addie, have succeeded. (And these are a particularly dangerous breed of cooties - sleazy motel cooties!) Bravo!

Cooties forgotten, I can't get over how heartbreaking these two are. Thinking back to where they started, their relationship had such a sweet innocence to it. Now they are drawn together, in a terrible place, all innocence gone.

I'm really enjoying your story and can't wait to see where you take us next. They can only go up from here, right? (I know it might take a while to get there, but I'm in it for the long haul!)

Wonderful chapter. Their pull to each other is both heart-breaking and heart-warming at the same time. And I can't see this being their last time - famous last words.
