I thought this was really good. Very sweet.

"I suppose, with what my life has been, I should realize when my daughter tells me there's a monster under her bed, it's from more than a bad dream."

That line made me laugh out loud.

Very sweet, and an awesome way of filling in some of the blanks between several of your post-Chosen stories. Even though there's certainly some memories in there that are unique to Spike's circumstances (the real monster under the bed was inspired), there are many more universal to all loving dads out there. Which, IMO, makes Spike's musings all the more touching and real.

I always enjoy Daddy Spike. He's so awed by the whole thing, it touches the heart. Loved all the short glimpses into a full life. It's like a walk down memory lane for me too.
