I'm behind my reading anyway so I don't count *g*.
The banter between Spike and Giles was fun even if Giles doesn't believe Spike. But declaring he only wants Dru back had hurt Buffy. Seems as if Buffy doesn't want to take Angel back. ~ Looking forward to a new part even if it takes longer.

Excellent description of emotions and thoughts, etc. And I loved how Giles defended Buffy - if only he had been more like that on the acutal show!

I loved the give and take of Spike trying to convice Giles of his intentions Spike was delightfully self serving and in voice, not caring a whit that he was prancing all over Buffy emotionally. The prolonged make out sessions belie his indifference...

Excellent work! My favorite WIP by far. Every time I see a new chapter I squeal in happiness. And awesome chapter again. I love the little ideas you get for your writing to make it more humorous, like the "bleeding heart attack" and "bold, italisized, the whole nine yards." I love how we don't now how Spike really feels here and it makes Buffy uncertain about him. It makes her want him more (and possible more than just lust) because she thinks he's only using her as a substitute. The "makes me feel like a woman" angle from Buffy's POV is believable and experty done. Just fantastic work, please write more! ;)

SQUEE!! So glad that you're back with a new chapter!! I loved it!! Heck, and it's fitting that Spike's not falling in love with Buffy so soon, yet I'm soo loving the confusing emotions that both are having for the other. It fits them perfectly. Can't wait for more!

Buffy's logic can be so warped sometimes. Her whole line of thinking where Spike is just using her lips as a substitute.... like he couldn't easily find a less dangerous-for-his-health substitute... I mean really. lol

The attraction is palpable, and Buffy just going with it is a lot of fun. Her confused inner babble made me grin, and "It wasn’t fair. Spike was a vampire. He was of the dead. Why was it that he smelled like a walking dish of man candy?" made me laugh out loud.

Now that you've set the stage for Spike to join forces with the gang, the tension is just going to build. I'm sure Giles and the Scoobies will have something to say about that!
