I think it might be Xander that did that to Spike now instead of Riley because of the info 1) "sense of inadequacy " and 2) "with his unworthy competition out of the way, she *still* refused to choose him". so it could only be Xander because he is obsessed with Buffy and constantly she never chooses him.

OOh, interesting. I still haven't really figured out who the one who shot Spike is, though I thought the appearance of Riley was a little coincendental. Now, with Angel coming around, I think he either has info or maybe he's the one who shot him. Very intriguing.

First off, I love this story! (I love all of your stories, actually.) I have an interesting question: when and if Spike learns to talk again, will he have an American accent because two American girls are teaching him to talk? I don't know which way I would prefer it! still lovin the story, moving along at a good pace, not too slow or too fast & throw another suspect into the pot, but I don't think its Angel, still going for Xander. Love the fact that you are posting regularly, then I dont have to go back & reread the previous chapter cos its been so long that I've forgotten

Wow! You are being so clever in the wording and the timing of Angel, Riley, and Xander, that I just can't make up my mind who the "prime suspect"is!

I'm looking forward to Giles visit, though. I hope that he will be kind to Spike.
