Indeed, he talked to Giles and said just that. So why does he believe he'll loose her? He doesn't want to talk much either; as if he has to hide something? But now he told her.. so he hasn't something to hide. Yet? What he told that's nothing the other would remember. They said the thought they knew him. ~ Oops. And one time is enough... ~ Looking forward to the next chapter.
