Gotta love a man with a mission! I'm glad Spike was able to get past Buffy's defenses, but with his tactics Buffy never really stood a chance. ;-) Spike and Buffy's big upcoming talk should be interesting. Wonderful chapter as always! ~ I just listened to the song... it was a very nice choice for the Spuffy love scene. :D

You have nothing to be concerned about; this chapter is incredible.
Evocative and full of emotion, the awkwardness created by their respective insecurites is tangible. Furthermore, that cloud is reappearing on the horizon as someone clearly spies on our couple.

Author's Response: Yup, that's a parallel through the show-- but like Spike thought in this chapter, he wasn't going to let her abuse him (my mind keeps going to Dead Things)-- he's going to make sure she faces her fears, or else he's not going to take her crap. Oh I love it, Spike is hurt but understands why Buffy did what she did and Buffy can't think about anything but Spike.
They are both so inlove.
Author's Response: I think that a lot of the strength in their relationship comes from Spike, at least in the beginning-- in the show, he was being so supportive and caring for her when she was at her weakest. But when they really started to be close was when Spike was at his weakest, and Buffy had to be strong for once.
