Absolutely loved this story. There were some parts of it that were just hilarious. You gave us a look at Spike that was gritty and real. Buffy got a look at far more than she could normally handle. You stayed true to the characters instead of just showing us all what we wanted to see, and I certainly appreciate it.

Author's Response: While I love him to bits, I have no desire to paper over Spike's faults. Buffy is quite right to be wary of getting to involved with him without a soul - she knows first hand all the possible consequences. Which doesn't mean it's impossible, just very, very, risky physically and emotionally! I needed to get all that across and yet make a romance possible against the background of both her fears and her depression. It was a very tricky balance!
