Author's Response: Thank you so much! I'm working on the new chapter now, so it shouldn't be much longer. :-)

Spike's total recall of William's response to the lovemaking made me hurt for Spike's loss even more. I loved this passage: “Tell me how it made you feel when I did that. Did it feel good?”
William swallowed when she asked that question, and he felt the part of himself that was inside her throb an eager response.
“I—I didn’t know anything could feel so—”
“What?” she whispered.
“—extraordinary.”
She smiled then, and he could tell by her eyes that he had amused her. But her eyes were also full of understanding, of profound love. Her eyes told him that he was hers, and that she was, in some way, delighted by his reaction to her body…by the desperate fidgeting he could not control." Buffy well and truly loved William and his sweetness and naivete. How can she possibly look at Spike and see her William? How can she not? I can't wait for another meeting between them.
The relationship between Spike and Dawn is wonderful. They're thick as thieves and supportive and intuitive with one another. I'm looking forward to how they're going to react to Angel's presence. Dawn seems to take her cues from Spike, so there should be a boatload of snarky anger and hurt feelings. Will Angel sense the innate connection between Spike and Buffy now? Again, I'm eager to read more.
This was another vivid, tight chapter. The attention to detail makes each of the scenes sing, and the characters ring true emotionally throughout. Thank you for taking such care with this.
Author's Response: Thank you so much Brunettepet. I love reading your reviews because you not only tell me that you enjoyed the chapter, but you also take the time to tell me why. I really appreciate that. :-)

Can't wait to see this reunion. I have the feeling that she won't be too happy to see Angel. Not with the memory of his Victorian self so fresh in her mind.
Looking forward to future up dates.
Thanks.

Author's Response: I'm glad you are. Thank you! :-D

Iit is time for the scoobie fun wagon to go home now for a little bit, and now Angels coming for a visit next thing Buffys period will be late and Glory with turn up to be the midwife. God this fic is so good makes me wanna fast forward time myself to the day the next chapter is posted. Where is a hell God when you need one or a witch with a mirror to make the time pass here so its update day!
This story is a 10 out of 10 on the Spuffy level.
Author's Response: How wonderful to know that you're enjoying my writing so much. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to tell me so. :-)

I just smile when I'm reading this for its such a wonderful storyline. I keep wondering now with Buffy coming back if she will keep with some of the victorian customs she had gotten used to or if she would now expect better manners out of Spike waiting on him to open a door or help her with her coat as William would have.
When I read this I find that after I'm giving them scenes in my head like I carry on where you left off which is really a good sign of a great author. You give this story such a elegant style.
Author's Response: Thank you so much! I'm glad you're enjoying the story and the way I write it. I'm very flattered. :-)

The sense of betrayal and loss in this chapter was heartbreaking for both Spike and Buffy. The set up for this section of the story is angsty and vivid. I wasn't expecting Buffy to fall into "William"'s arms, but she's so close to the events of the past, while he's over a hundred years away, I can't see their coming together happening easily.
Willow defending her spell and the reality of the spell itself show her arrogant mishaps with magic are going to be a part of your storyline, too. I'm looking forward to how you're going to weave this tale around canon events..
Thanks for another entertaining chapter.
Author's Response: You're very right about that. No immediate falling into arms here. Thanks for the review. :-)

Oh, lovely! Weaving the story into Season 6's storyline works beautifully. This Buffy, already in a loving relationship with William, offers so much opportunity to Spike. But, is it the Spike of canon? Seems so, with the ham handed wooing and underwear sniffing... I can't wait to see where this is going.
Author's Response: Thank you. I'm glad you liked it. :-D

Love the way Dawn nurtures Spike and tries to help Buffy with Spike since they both basically ignored by the Scoobies. The flashback to the past was bittersweet considering the time that has passed for Spike and not for Buffy. Looking forward to more chapters.
Author's Response: I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for taking the time to tell me so. :-D

Not often do you get a woman writer who can write the role of a man very well. You can always tell when a girl tries to write from the male perspective and you have done it and done it really well. This is just fantastic!
Author's Response: That's great to know! It's always a fear, when writing about someone of the opposite sex, that their thoughts and actions will ring untrue. Getting into Spike's head felt surprisingly easy, but, of course, it's hard for a writer to tell these things on their own, being so close to the story. I'm glad to hear from a reader that it's coming out right. Thanks! :-)

Maybe she didnt want to come home is right but it was gonna happen sooner or later at least she left after her night with William and before he got changed. What I wanna see is how Buffy faces Spike cause she fell in love with Will knowing he would be Spike someday. Its not like she can play dumb on that or hide from the fact she knew him in the future. I really loved howw you made Spike and Dawn ---and her being worrird about his reaction to Buffy coming back , enough to go over to his crypt ---I loved her for that--- Willow thinks she is doing exactly what her best friend would want her to do so you cant really be mad at her for that. But where did Giles go? He won't be happy with Angel showing up and with Spikes hands gow they are I hope there is no fight when he's not at hid fighting best.
Please please please please please!!!! Moore soon?
Author's Response: More very soon. I promise. :-)

I can't wait till Buffy comes out of her room!
Excellent and the best story on the net!

This story is so amazing. It reminds me of why I fell in love with fanfic, back in the early BtVS days, when there was incredible new fic all the time. Your writing is so great, and your plot is so wonderful and huge and full of heart. I love finding new chapters.
Author's Response: That's wonderful to know. Thanks so much for telling me you're enjoying my story. :-)

I'm glad Dawn went to check on Spike he needs someone to care for him as a friend right now. Spike isn't a guy who has many friends even in his old life William didn't really have anyone outside of Anne or Elizabeth. Dawn makes a great little sister he never had to him. The others are still arguing between themselves always trying to do what they think is best for Buffy of they took notice they might see shes hiding away from everyone right now. Angel coming or not coming to town will stir up a lot of things and it is driving me crazy till you post more.
Author's Response: I always felt so sorry for Spike on the series. He was such a social creature; he hated being alone. But he had almost no one. Thanks for the review. :-)

Does she still want me—?
The question that is haunting every reader of this fic I think lol!
We all wanna know!!
Cant wait to find out the answer to that!
Author's Response: You'll find out soon, I promise. Thanks for the review! :-)

As usual. Perfect chapter. As I said in a previous review today, I loved the interaction between Dawn and Spike.
But I´ve been thinking a lot about Buffy. I think we all want her to run over to Spikes arms. Tell him that she loves him and live happily ever after.... Yea.... I don´t think you´re going to make it so easy for us, poor readers, he, he.
The thing is, right now, she´s in shock. She just lost William, and she knows she´s never going to see her William again. For her, Spike is an annoying vampire with a chip in his head who had an obsession with her....
Just think about it. Last time she saw Spike, was when she revoked his invitation, and in this story , he never got the chance to prove his love for her and Dawn, like in Intervention. So if we think about it, she really doesn´t know what she´s going to meet, and even though she knows he remembered and recognized the bracelet, he still left the house with a bang... So I don´t think she knows what to expect.
Remember she has the Idea that vampires are evil monster without a soul... And Spike doesn´t have a soul.... (As a reader of this story, I know that William and Spike are very alike. But she doesn´t) . So I really hope that when they meet again, either if she goes to his crypt, or he goes and visits her, that he gets the chance to show some of the William he still has inside, angry William maybe, but William nevertheless.
Please, please, be kind to both of them, a little bit, let them have something.... good. and please update soon!!!!!!!
Author's Response: Confusion is a good word for what Buffy is feeling right now. She's been through a lot in a short period of time, and it's going to take her a while to get her bearings. How this affects Spike (and the incoming Angel) remains to be seen. Thanks for the review! :-)

Ok, so how is Buffy going to react to Angel? Specifically with all of the stuff that happened when hey met in Victorian England? So need to know, personally I hope that Buffy kicks Angel's butt or at least gives him a piece of her mind.
Author's Response: Can't say what's going to happen on that front, so I'll just tell you thanks very much for the review. :-)

I was sad to hear that people didn't like Part II. I thought it was brilliant: violent, dark, sinister. Everything I always imagined Spike's past to be and more. I didn't think that your story could get better well, I'm wrong, so darn wrong and so happy about it. So thank you for sharing and I'll look forward for your next updates.
cheers
mikim
Author's Response: Thank you so much for telling me you enjoyed Part II! I understand that it was hard for some people to get through, being, as you said, very dark and violent. But it's important in the third part of the story to know exactly what Spike's been through over the years, in order to understand some of his actions. Thank you so much for the review! :-)

Even with his mangled hands and own pains he tries to send Dawn home to Buffy to keep the Scoobies from bugging her. I wasn't digging the idea of Angel but now he might be the right thing to get Spike and Buggy talking. Like last time I get to the bottom of the page and I just want to cry for more. Please more!!!
Author's Response: Spike would like to tell himself that he's so angry with Buffy over her betrayal that he doesn't care what happens to her, but, of course, that could never happen. The callous is off the soft part of his heart, and if it's still wounded, it also is still *hers*, and nothing he does can alter that. She will always be his primary concern ... and his primary desire. Thanks so much for the review. :-)

Yes!!!! Don't take that bracelet off Buffy!!!
I wonder if Angel will ask about it since it is a antique.
Really a great story I hang on everyword and always hate to see the new update end. I did go and read the new parts added and I ended up reading the whole thing all over again the new stuff really shows William and Elizabeths thoughtfulness to each other and makes their romance fuller. I loved it.
Please keep on the writing spree I'm loving it.
Author's Response: It's great to know that you enjoyed the revisions. I kind of hated to tinker with the chapters this late in the game, but I've never really been satisfied with the way the story begins ... most especially with chapters 6 - 8. I'm glad you liked the changes and the new chapter. Thanks so much for the review! :-)

I was so happy to see Dawn when to confide in Spike and just to have him to tell things to that she noticed about her sister.
Dawn kind of knows now Spike had some sort of reaction to her sister coming back .
I really loved the romance scene in this it showed bothi of them loving and trying to please the other.
Can't wait till your next pages. :)
Author's Response: I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thank you so much for taking the time to tell me so. :-)

Hate it when Willow interferes and does what SHE thinks is best. Poor Buffy. I hope she and Spike talk soon.
Author's Response: To tell you the truth, I hate that too; but it seems intrinsic to her personality. Buffy and Spike will speak soon, I promise. I hope you continue to read and review. :-)

Date: 08/23/2007 - 03:53 pm Title: Chapter Forty-Three
Talking about thinking to do the best for a friend: Willow did that too, deciding what she thinks is best for Buffy.
Thought it was a dream; but it didn't make feel Spike better with the way he hurt his hands. He's lucky that Dawn was there. To know that all you need to heal is right in front of you but not able to get it.
Thank god for Dawn speaking it out (that maybe Buffy didn't want to come back home). Hopefully it will give Spike to think.
Uh-huh... Angel will come. Buffy won't like it I think; at last not so much like Willow thinks she will.
Author's Response: I'm glad you liked the chapter. Thanks so much for reviewing! :-)
