So glad to see that it seems Spike's realized who she is. Too bad Buffy didn't get to tell him anything and I'm disapointed that she just allowed Xander to make Spike leave, she shoud've stood up for Spike.

Oh My Goodness!!! That was just amazingly good. I loved how Spike suddenly realized that Buffy was his Elisabeth. Hate you a little for not letting Buffy say anything to him - can't wait to see what happens. I hope she puts the Scoobies in their place like they totally deserve - it always bugged me how they felt they were the only ones who knew what was right for Buffy. Please! Let her chew them out somehow.

Hey. Great chapter.

I know I said that I hoped Spike will recognize Buffy earlier, but I pretty much expected things to turn up like you made them to in this chapter. After all, you had to take into consideration the entire story of S/B that took place in BTVS, and kept unfolding all those years.

I just think that if you didn't have it all already planned for this fic, in actuality Spike would rather sooner than later recognize Buffy as Elizabeth. I mean, when you live in a world of supernatural, time travel is not a thing too impossible to take into consideration.

Plus, you can also recognize a person by the words he uses most often, overall behavior, and some stuff that can't be copied - like moles or freckles in a certain place.

But I understand that you have chosen a drift to send this story to a long time ago, so I'm not surprised that it unfolded this way. I guess I just hoped that they will be together sooner. :)

Hmm... I wonder what happened between Spike and Angel in your version of the story?.. After all, if Spike thought that Buffy "looked' a lot like his lost love, he must have been pissed at Angel for making her fall for him, and I believe he should've been really jealous...

Hope you're gonna get to it somewhere in your story, which is still great.

Author's Response: In [my] Spike's defense, it had been over a century since he last saw her, or heard her talk, when he walked in on her in the Bronze in 1997. Also, I seriously doubt he was all about the mole checking. lol. I will be addressing some of this in the following chapters, though. Oh I can't wait for her to go and talk to Spike. Yes he remembered her at the Bronze but I knew it would not really make a difference till she came back because she would not know.

I wonder if the love they had back then will pick up, or if he will be mad at her for everything she knew.

Finally! Very good chapter. And it took me a moment, but it´s clear that Spike in the actual timeline couldn´t have recognized her when they met first three years ago, because her time journey hadn´t occured yet. Only after she comes back the memories are altered and he can "remember" her.
I cannot imagine him leaving, though, or Buffy doing nothing to prevent it. Somehow I would have thought, that Buffy would be different, I mean, it´s all very fresh for her. Wouldn´t she be completely fixed on Spike?

Author's Response: There is a reason why Buffy did not prevent Spike's leaving, and that will be fully explained in Chapter 42, I promise. I can't say anything else without giving away part of the plot ... but thanks for reviewing. :-)

haha-- actually, I *hadn't* been wondering what had happened over the past 3 1/2 years. I guess i just assumed that it followed the same canon as the show-- he knows that there's a resemblance to Elizabeth, but yeras, and dreams have made him confused. Buffy, of course, knowns nothing about it, and they continue just as it was shown on the show.

At least, that's what I had assumed. I'm *assuming* that I'm wrong, considering your author's note. haha

I loved this chapter!!! I admit that I was hoping for a "William!" as Buffy throws herself to him, but I have yet to be disappointed by the way you have taken this story.

Author's Response: lol. While I'll admit that Buffy throwing herself into Spike's arms and calling him "William" would be romantic, I just couldn't see that happening in the story. Actually, I didn't see any of this happening. I had my basic concept - her return at the beginning of Part III - and then the rest just wrote itself. Glad to hear that you enjoyed it. Thanks! :-)

I just began to read this fic last week, so this should be my first review, just to tell you that I loved this second part: Spike is such an intersting character and to be able to enjoy it from all pints of view: William, the new born vampire Spike and the change he suffred upon himself to become the Spike we first knew in Sunnydale... the journey is just amazing and in no way boring or unintersting. At least not to myself.
