Angelus seems to laugh off Williams holding on to his human man life and kinda mocked him like "Get over it" and in a way being a older vampire demon you see how he would be this way but I just hope William keeps a part of his heart and love and does not let the others destroy him.
Love this please add more soon!
Author's Response: William will not lose his heart altogether. Like Spike, he's much too dogged in his love to let it go so easily. Thanks for the review. :)

I really like the way you dealt with the interpersonal relationships between Angelus, Drusilla, and William in this chapter. I especially like the banter between Angelus and William; it suits both their characters.
Oddly enough, I couldn't get upset with Drusilla for destroying that book. Knowing that it had been ripped apart was sad, but poor, crazy Drusilla did what she believed she needed to in order to keep William.
Awesome update, as usual. Please update again soon!
Author's Response: I agree completely about Drusilla. In a way, I hated her for doing what she did, but in another way, it's understandable. She cares for William, and he's holding himself aloof from her. It must be painful and confusing, especially given her mental state. Thanks for the review. :)

He is repulsed and still he is drawn to Dru in being his sire and Sngel and Darla seem annoyed with William bring his work home with him. Even with the gore of the kills I cannot blame him for killing off those jerks from the party lol in a off-beat way it reminds you when at a party use your manners or it may come back to bite you in the butt lol. All these killings are giving them bad press so I can see where in the coming story he will be better off to be hunting Slayers for his torture kills and less focused on his old life. He is still a young vampire he will learn a lot and that might help him too in his missing of Elizabeth it will give him purpose I think. Great new chap. I love seeing it come up with a new update I get all excited.
Author's Response: I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for the review. :)

OMG! They are like discussing Buffy which is kinda wiggie considering how in the future Angel is Buffy's boyfriend and how impotant she is now to him and how will Spike deal with that at a future date will be uncomfortable to say the least lmao. Please please please more more more soon its to good for words.
Author's Response: I'm glad you like it. Thanks, as always, for taking the time to review. :)

Seems Drusilla wanted William to punish her and even though evil he would not cross that line and hurt her. Angel was interesting that he just kinda stood back and did not step in other then to be annoyed that Darla was pkissed over the singing lol I loved that part it so made me giggle.
Author's Response: Angelus is wavering between being affection for William and irritation by William's somewhat unorthodox behavior. I always sensed that same dynamic between them on the show. I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for telling me so. :)

Ah I knew Dru would sense something inside of William and have to take away the former love and replace his sunshine with darknes. Oh how I am loving this I was so excited to see you put up more today!!
Author's Response: Dru may be crazy, but she can be very perceptive. I'm glad you liked the chapter. A belated thank you for your review. :)

I liked how you had Angelus and Spike talk in this and how Spike does push the envelope with Angelus and little by little is becoming his own man. Ok ok ok I said man but I mean it in the sense like in becoming a vampire he's becoming a man like a adult. Very cool!
Author's Response: Thank you. I'm glad you like it. :)

I have a problem with this and my problem is I loved William so much it's hard to see him fall apart. And it's really silly because I love Spike once he gets on the other side so your talent as a writer really shines through on this because you make the reader uncomfortable and uneasy and that rocks because with your story you have made me love the lead and then hate him and want to love him again. This really is a superior story and I can't wait till you make me laugh or cry or uncomfortable again its as addicting a blood lust is in wanting to see where he goes next.
Author's Response: I adored William, too. So, I know exactly how you feel about this transition into Spike. It isn't always comfortable to read (or write), but I wanted to portray it in a realistic way ... meaning not all hugs and puppies. I'm glad you appreciate that and that you're enjoying the story regardless of its sometimes difficult content. Thank you for the review. :)

I never thought about it before but I guess you really do kinda have to find yourself when you are no longer a hunan and become something else. This would explain Spikes change in clothes and the phyiscal and visual changes he does to himself later down the line.
More soon please
Author's Response: I'm glad you liked it. Thank you. :)

Is he man or is he beast?
Just who is ihe now is a excellent question I look forward to seeing how he answers that myself.
Loving this!!!

I'm not sure if cutting all ties to his human side is possible but he really isn't a man anymore either. Super post
Author's Response: Thank you. :)
And that's a very accurate summing up of what's happening. He isn't the same man he was ... but he isn't a complete monster either. Joss himself called Spike an "anomoly" for retaining so much of his humanity after he was turned. Humanity, of course, does not always go hand-in-hand with compassion.

Noooooooooooooooooooooo! Not the book it is the next to the only ties lift to humanity he has. I hope he takes the ring and hides it away from then all.

"Just who am I, now? Who am I, really?"
Poor William. How confussing it must be...
He still feels he is William. His love and grief for Elisabeth are still there eating his heart out.. He still loved his mother and wanted to make her better and stronger, that was the reason he turned her. He doesn´t go as careless through his un-life as he wants to give the impression he does.
No, he needs to drink his sorrow away. He needs to drink to torture. He enjoys it, yes, but still he nead to drink, not to feel. And then, it must be confussing... His mother wasn´t the same when she was turned... and now Angelus is telling him that he isn´t the same person... that ..."The girl didn’t give that damned book to you; she gave it to a man who doesn’t even exist anymore.”
And then the nail in the coffin:
"If your girl saw you now…if she saw what you’ve done in her absence…would she still love you?”
Brilliant writing.... really. And then you had Angelus telling him this things... Hmm... I have the suspicion that you like Angelus... I have the suspicion that you have a little Angelus in you....
Please update soon. Please, please, please!!!!!
Author's Response: Oh, I definitely like Angelus. I'm not a big Angel fan, but I always loved seeing Angelus on the two shows -- especially flashbacks of Angelus. He was just so delightfully evil, reveling in his murders and even becoming pretentious about them. (A real kill, a good kill ... is pure artistry). He's trying to pass those same feelings on to William. William, of course, will not always remain an apt pupil. ;)
I'm glad you liked the chapter. Thanks so much for reviewing it. :)

Oh, damn. I was almost hoping William would leave them after the book incident, but of course that wouldn't happen. Still, I felt really bad for him. He shoulda throttled Drusilla.
I love the way you're writing William's past. I'm looking forward to more!
Author's Response: He was tempted to hurt her, but his instincts just wouldn't let him at this point. I really wished he had, though. I hated her for destroying his book.
Thanks for reviewing. I'm glad you like the story. :)

Wow. I wish this was one of the novels on my nightstand table so I could read it until the wee hours of the night. I find myself looking for your updates constantly. For the last few chapters, I have been holding my breath while I read of William’s monstrous transformation. I am hoping that he resolves his existential crisis without metaphorically killing William. I have a sneaking suspicion that you will unify your story line with the show’s story line. That in the end (one hundred years down the road), Spike’s character will not be all that different from the show’s unloved Spike. I don’t want it to be that way, but it looks like it might be. No matter what, though, I am sure it will be a good read. I think your story telling and writing skills shine brightly.
Author's Response: Thank you so much, jenb. It's wonderful to hear that you are enjoying the story that much. I really appreciate your telling me so. :)

ah man does that suck...the book is gone. All he has left is the ring. He better hold on to that with his dear life. I wish he did something to Dru...it seems that everything is slowly fading away from his human life.
I was thinking of part 3 (the big part that i'm really looking forward to) and thinking...is Buffy going to date Angel? And will you go back to the season 2 things and have Buffy with no memory of William and him having memories of Elizabeth? Or has the going into the future have her granted those memories...? Thats the tough question. Or...will she go back into season 5 and find everything very different...like Spike never came to the town and the world is turned upside down.
How many chapters do you think part 2 will hold? cause we are still in the 1800s...
Author's Response: Part II will be comparable to Part I in it's length. I hope you continue to enjoy the story until we reach that point. Thanks for reviewing. :)

Great chapter! Loving the story!
I keep thinking about what Angelus said about William's "lass." I wonder whether Elizabeth, if she was merely a Victorian Elizabeth and not Buffy, would really be able to love him. Buffy on the other hand will be an interesting case: not only having to reconcile William and Spike, but also (depending on how time traveling will affect her) will have to reconcile her feelings about William, and about the pre- and the post-time travel Spike.
Author's Response: As he is now, it's questionable that Buffy, even as a Slayer, could love him. He is, after all, a killer. However, it also begs the question...would he have become a killer had Buffy been there? Glad to hear you are exploring all the possibilities. Thanks for reviewing. :)

The cold, harsh truth of his reality, as told to him, surprisingly enough, in amiable but nevertheless forthright terms, by Angelus. A person of blood and murder and a cold, cold body: even the mirror refuses to reflect such an existence. What would she think of her beloved William now, would Miss Buffy? Yes, the cold, harsh truth.
This is the life. But not in a good way; he may revel in the screams of his tortured human acquaintances and drink with the merriment of a creature beyond the law, beyond all expectation and certainly beyond love -
Yes. This is the life. Just not the life that William, vampire or no, ever wanted.
Sobering chapter; for him as well as us. Right there with him. Great.
Author's Response: What an insightful review, sue. Thank you for putting so much thought into it. :)

youre focusing on spike too much. what happend to buffy? was she send back to her time how long was she gone??? i wanna know that kind of stuff. love to read more !!!!!
Author's Response: No, I am not focusing on Spike too much. I am focusing on William's transition into Spike. I left ample warning at the beginning of Part II that Buffy ***will not*** resurface until Part III. I'm sorry if you have a problem with this, but I don't see it as a flaw in my writing at all. Thank you for your feedback, even if I don't agree with it.
