William has such a sad story of how many people he has lost who meant something to him. Even his Mother Anne he would not even consider burying her and having her awaken to the kinda torments he had he did have good intentions he just did not know what he was doing and getting then both into in turning her and losing her as a real Mother to himself. It was heart shattering when he was packing his things and came across the book and brushed his fingers over it. And how he seemed to want to protect Elizabeth's room and memories by not letting Dru go into her room. And the unresponsive sexual scenes seem perfect in the sense of what he has become and what as who he was before has gone through. Where any sort of touch or caress would be comforting with the emotional pain he has even unwanted sex fills some void in him. I did have a question though with his turning it took days and with his Mother's it took only one which made me think that played into her being completely evil and more minion like or maybe in his inexperience in turning someone he left something out or failed at it somehow or something with the gardening reference. But I do see why he's so latched on to her as time and years will go by she's just the only thing he has. Angelus coming on the scene becomes sort of like a older brother relationship in him seeking his acknowledgement and approval and pride in him showing him the ropes. But I do wonder how William will take to the nature of Angelus and Dru relationship and how Angelus does treat Dru given how William treats a woman he's in a relationship with I do not think he will like Angelus's treatment of her so it should be exciting to see what you do with them all next.

Author's Response: Once again, I am blown away by the depth and insight in your review. I certainly hope you continue to enjoy the story and offer me this wonderful feedback. Thank you. :) Oh...and in regards to your question. There is a significance to Anne's earlier rising and to the fact that William and Dru seem more "human" than other vampires. But it won't be addressed until much later. :)

Going home was hard to read just because you knew it was coming the deaths of his staff and then end of his mom too. His choice of things to bring with him was telling though. I truly love this and cant really wair till I see more.

Humm power is a heady thing when topped with looking for acceptance in so many ways Will-Spike is just like a new kid at a school looking for friends on the play ground. And it won't take long for a right to break out or jealousies to develop. And I do not think Will-Spike will like finding out Dru goes with both him and Angel. Great new stuff on this fiction it has it all.

Author's Response: Thanks so much. I'm glad you think so. :)

I woory for William seeking Angelus’ approval with probably not ever really having any guy friends it's like he's in a teen pressure kinda thing where he's new and wants to be cool and fit in with his new society I just get a gut feeling myself that Angelus’ approval comes with a steeping price.

Author's Response: There is a certain amount of pressure for him to fulfill Angelus' expectations of him. In a way, he has no choice but to do so. Without Angelus and Drusilla to show him the ropes, he would be lost. Thanks for the review. :)

So sad in Anne dying because he really though he could save her and make her better and take her with him. I will mis Anne she was a kind lady who loved her child and his love for Buffy. Sure making your Mom into creature of the night could never work out but now he is really alone and there is no real need to keep any part of him from being all evil now.

Fantastic fic I really love finding you have put up a new page its a plesure to read.

Author's Response: He was so new to the unlife, I just don't think he fully understood what would happen to her. He looked inside himself and saw that he was not so different than before; I think he just assumed that she would be the same way. We, of course, knew better. I'm glad to hear you are enjoying the story so far. Thanks so much for taking the time to read and review. :)

Yuck from a Vamps smelling point of view I guess his house would freak of someone with a long term illness. You always do such a great job in pointing out the little things that most people over look and yet totally fit in making it all the better. I thought it was great how you made William comfortable around Angelus and wanting to learn the deviant sides of un-life. Williams whole life was walking on the proper and gentile sides of things and in a way he seemed to resent it now with nothing left to lose and his soul gone why not become good at being evil?

Love your work.

There is so much to just love in this it's hard not to want to scream when you come to the end of another chapter. This has been only a few days in becoming a Vampire for him and he has changed so much you get a real idea of what 100 plus years as one will do to him. I can't wait to see what you do next.

(“Does it always happen, like that?” he asked, desperately. “Does it always—”

She stroked his hair in a kindhearted, absentminded sort of way. Her voice was hushed and oddly peaceful as she answered him.

“Not with you and I.”)

This was interesting I wonder if you will address this later or not in why Dru and Spike are the way that they are and not full on evil. I was glad you skipped over with the whole Anne and William dusting part it was to uncomfortable to watch it on tv the first time I though it better you only showed Williams shock afterwards.
This story always impresses me in the fine details.

Author's Response: It will be addressed, but not until much later. I'm glad you picked up on it, though, because it is an important statement in regards to the story. Thanks so much for the review. :)

I really liked this chapter and the others. I like that you give conscience thought about property rights and such to make William's return more interesting. I thought I would be impatient with Book Two but I love how you write about William's thoughts and feelings. Its really great and I can't wait to read what happens next. Thanks for the update.

Author's Response: I'm very glad to hear that I turned you around with Part II. I know that a lot of readers are eager to hear about Buffy. But her absence does not make this story less of a romance between them. Thanks so much for the review. :)

Its sort of like William is going along for the ride now that all of his former life is gone. Angel was super icky too lol. Sorry I'm not a Angel fan just because of how evil he always seems to be but it was good you showed him teaching Spike to become a vampire you enjoy the evil and you work on it.
Hpoe to see more of this soon.

Very cool in showing the more sexual side of being a vamp with the blood lust and how the violence pleases the demon part of him and how he is embracing it as it is probably thing only thing that makes him feel anything. I was reading this and thinking how much it is like Buffy when she returns from the grave and feels nothing at all except when she was with Spike. Kinda like they use the violence or sexual nature of their power to over come the emotional part of their brain. I hope your muse takes bite of you and does not leave you cause this is just one fic I cant put down.

Author's Response: "...the only thing that make him feel anything." You have certainly hit the nail on the head with that statement! Despite his growing pleasure in being a vampire, William still carries the burnden of depression from the loss of Buffy and his mother. The dead feeling in his heart will be explored fully as the chapters go on. I hope you enjoy them. Thank you for the review. :)

" She motioned to the staircase. “Shall we take our rest, then?”

He nodded and dropped his pillowcase to the floor. Together they walked up the staircase. He suffered her hand on his arm as they ascended. In a way, he even liked the feeling. At least it was physical contact of some sort, with someone. But when she reached for the knob of the nearest door—Elizabeth’s door—he flung her off angrily.

“Not that room!”

This was the best part of this for me in how even in death William is still protective of Elizabeth and does not want her this disturbed.

This is just so great I love your William.

Author's Response: I'm glad to hear it. :) One thing that surprise me about a couple of reviewers was that they seemed to miss the fact that William *does* still love Elizabeth(Buffy). His heart belongs to her, and vampirism and Drusilla have not changed that. I'm happy to hear that you do understand that, and that the scene mentioned touched you. That is exactly what it was meant to do, so thanks so much for letting me know it succeeded. :)

Poor Anne and then poor William in having to kill what was the last relationship he though he could salvage. I was glad he let Matthew live and run for his life I always liked Matthew and was pulling for the guy. I think its neat that you stick with the Joss story time line but you give the whole more personal side in becoming a vampire and how parts of his self will always be with him. Very cool story I can't say enough about it.

Author's Response: One thing I always wished Joss had addressed was William's transition into a vampire. They briefly touched on it in FFL, LMPTM, and Destiny. I understand they couldn't let a supporting charater completely overshadow the main ones, but a Spike movie would have been nice to clear things up. In my fic, I'm endeavoring to offer my readers moments they weren't privvy to in the Buffyverse. I'm very glad to hear that you are enjoying it. Thank you for the review.

I like how you kept William/Spike in a sort of detached state sort of like in his mourning of his love nothing no longer touches him in a lot of ways when Buffy went missing and thought for dead that ripped his soul out long before Drusilla ever did. Exceptional and compelling you give him heart even when hes evil.

Author's Response: There is a numbness about William, now. Something different than what we saw on the show. Killing is one of the only ways he can fully fill alive. I'm glad to see that you picked up on the amazing heart that still resides in him. Some of his better qualities may have been stifled by the demon, but his sense of loyalty and of love is not one of them. Thank you so much for your review. :)

I LOVE THIS IN HOW YOU MANAGE TO GIVE SPIKE A WHOLE NEW LEVEL AND DYNAMIC TO HIS PERSONALITY IN HIS KEEPING HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH ELIZABETH STILL PURE FROM THE SHADOW THAT HIS OWN LIFE HAS TAKEN WITH HIM NOT LETTING DRU SOIL THE PLACES AND HIS LOVE FOR ELIZABETH. SO WELL WRITTEN AND WELL DONE PLEASE ADD MORE WHEN YOU CAN.

Author's Response: Thank you for taking the time to review this, Bel Canto. Everything you have said perfectly mirrors my intent, and that's great to know. I want my readers to understand the double entendres without pointing them out, and the readers on this site are incredibly quick to notice them. Thanks, as always, for your review.

This story stays with me long after I read it, and I find myself thinking about it throughout the day. So imagine my delight on waking up this Sunday morning to see that you posted two chapters this week.

I don't even know where to begin. Reading William, tormented over Elizabeth's "death," and developing into Spike is just so exquisitely done. I also like that you didn't show the scene where William kills his mother...as you mentioned, we already know what happened. I for one, was thrilled to see that you included him meeting Angelus. I was waiting for him to arrive, and I can't wait to see Darla as well.

And the way you described William's relationship with Angelus? Perfect.

You really have a gift of a professional writer. I feel every emotion that William is feeling, and reading the details of his turning and how he's being taught by Angelus, and the impact it's having on him...well, you couldn't have done it better.

I loved sweet, innocent William. But, I love Spike more :) So reading his transition is making this story so much more real for me.

Thank you so much for sharing with us what you created.
