Your story is great.!!!
I was a bit disappointed in the beginning , that we weren´t going to see anything about Buffy in part two. But it´s true, you did write that the story would be of a novel length and what it would involve. So even though I´m the impatient kind of person, I understand completely your point of view. And something very important for the ones who hate the relationship between Dru and Spike. The only way he is going to appreciate what he had with Buffy and what he can have with her in the future when he meets her again is to experience what he´s going to go through with Dru, Angelus and Darla. They were the ones who made him "Spike" after all. So please update soon. Can´t wait to see where you´re going to take this fic.

Author's Response: That is exactly how I feel about the Spike/Dru relationship as well, akarinacj. Spike can't become Spike without Drusilla, and, because we *need* this glimpse into his past to understand him in the future, Dru is a necessary evil. I'm glad you liked the chapter. Ahhh, the making of Spike... can't say I love it, but it's necessary in order to have him live until Buffy's time. Very graphic, but nicely done. Can't say I am looking forward to the "William meets Angelus" part though...

I don't have any brilliant insights or anything at this point :), but just wanted to let you know how excited I was that you updated and how I'm really enjoying the story. I know this part is probably hard to read for a lot of people (and maybe for you to write), but it's absolutely essential and it's amazing to see William's journey to becoming Spike. Without this part, we wouldn't be able to really understand all the layers of the future Elizabeth/William reunion.

Author's Response: I'm glad you feel that way, Anne, because that is exactly how I felt when I began writing it. I love William; I don't want him to be unhappy. But to be honest, he can't become Spike unless he goes through this uncomfortable process. And, as you said, we wouldn't be able to really understand him if we weren't there to see the transformation take place. Thanks so much for reviewing!

And right at a moment when no one is there to witness what happens to our girl. How beside themselves everyone should be. Tragic indeed, but not without it's brilliance. I cannot even imagine the aftermath this should bring. And Buffy's little inking as she said she would never leave him... I loved it.

EWWWW I HATE DRU AND WILLIAM TOGETHER!!!!!!! i mean im glad that she made him so that he can one day be with buffy, but i dont like them together. i understand that this is how it must be to get to buffy and willaim, and im glad that he doesnt love dru or care for her, but still i dont like it, im sorry i cant help it. i love this story so much and am so happy that u updated. i really hope that william doesnt lose his love for buffy overtime and doesnt fall for dru. also i hope that everything works out in time and that william and buffy will meat up again soon enough. please update as soon as u can, i cant wait to read more. thanx

You are doing such a fine job of this. The missing bits to all my imaginings of the story of Buffy and Spike, the way I would like them to be. I am finding it better to read than watch the show as it turns out the same every time but the reading is always different.

interesting...i'm glad that william doesn't really love dru in this...or does he later? Hopefully not. Now that he says he wants to go home...he will soon realize that he can't go back...only forward. It would be interesting to see if you make William leave dru and be a vampire in sorrow for a hundred years alone...or does he give in and just accept that Dru is in his life now. The possibilities are endless here. I was really hoping to see something about Buffy here but i'll wait. So is this the last chapter of the past then? I mean or is there flashbacks? Once you go into the presend day stuff will you stay? I kind of want to see the evolution of Spike...well, your take on Spike and how if he never forgets Elizabeth OR just goes on killing and trying to forget. Update soon. PLEASE!!! This weekend or something? Can you give us a ballpark of when the last part will be?

Author's Response: Part Two will be exclusively in the past, no alternations between time periods. Part Three will be exclusively in the present day. I hope that clears things up? Oh, poor William, this will be so hard for him, and I see he still is William, in his entirety. Do wish you would get thru this part relatively quickly, becasue it can't lead to anything good - except part 3.

this is very upsetting. it pains me to say this, but i can no longer enjoy this story. i can't read about sweet william as a killer and with drusilla, it's too hard to get through. i might continue once you start writing about buffy in the present, hopefully that wouldn't be too long of a wait. i was hoping that the last chapter would have been the end of the past, that we wouldn't have to witness william after he was turned. i don't know why, but i was thinking it would just be buffy and spike from now on. this really sucks, i always look forward to the updates of this story, but now i'll only feel dread as long as he's with drusilla. i can't stand her and never will, but i do wish you luck with the rest of it. you are a great writer and i will miss this story dearly.

Author's Response: Well, all I can say is I'm sorry you feel that way, tasha. However, I refuse to change the direction of this story for anyone. William's relationship with Dru is pure canon...as is his birth as a killer. Without this, there would be no Spike. Let us not forget...Spike was once the "scourge of Europe.". As I said it my author's note, this story is and will always remain a romance at heart. But it is not a simple, one-shot fluff piece. True love is not that simple, and I'm not planning to simplify so that people can get their spuffy fix more quickly. If that loses me a reader or two, then so be it. But I am very sorry to hear that you won't be seeing it through to the end. I think you would have been pleasantly surprised. Thank you for your feedback.

Such a bittersweet chapter to end William's life, he really had a death wish when Drusilla found him. Such a good way for Spike to know that Slayers harbour a death wish - he should know from his human past. I love the way you describe the surroundings, characters and emotions in this chapter. Looking forward to the next.

I'm normally a Angel?Buffy fan but this really turned me around in how I look at Spike and the William days and how if he did have a woman in his past how he would have been and treated her and you really did the Spuffy-verse justice in this I thought the writing for this is a four star rated story with originality and believable romance where even the supporting story members are three dimensional it is a classic.

William's anguish was beautifully conveyed and difficult to read. His anger and guilt fueled attack of Matthew was also brutal and believable. Matthew dismissing the gossips and seeking a bit of quiet in the stables was a really wonderful scene. I especially loved the detail of Buffy's horse still being jittery hours after losing her rider to the flash of light.

Now we're at the beginning of Spike, I'm on pins and needles waiting for them to be reunited. You've done such a wonderful job writing Victorian England and this cast of original characters, I'm really looking forward to your take on Sunnydale.
