I have been following this story for over a year now (might be a lot longer actually). Can not even find the words to praise it, it is awesome - one of the best spuffy stories out there.I really enjoy the writing style - so well thoght out. Just a great story all around. Thank you for such a pleasurable read!

I'm normally a Angel?Buffy fan but this really turned me around in how I look at Spike and the William days and how if he did have a woman in his past how he would have been and treated her and you really did the Spuffy-verse justice in this I thought the writing for this is a four star rated story with originality and believable romance where even the supporting story members are three dimensional it is a classic.

William's anguish was beautifully conveyed and difficult to read. His anger and guilt fueled attack of Matthew was also brutal and believable. Matthew dismissing the gossips and seeking a bit of quiet in the stables was a really wonderful scene. I especially loved the detail of Buffy's horse still being jittery hours after losing her rider to the flash of light.
Now we're at the beginning of Spike, I'm on pins and needles waiting for them to be reunited. You've done such a wonderful job writing Victorian England and this cast of original characters, I'm really looking forward to your take on Sunnydale.

These last two chapters were emotionally fulfilling and richly detailed. Their coming together was erotic and romantic, and I love how chivalrous William was acting even though he and Buffy have made love. Buffy being "rescued" has me aching for William, left holding the perfect ring.

Buffy washing the glasses was a delightful, loving detail in a gut wrenching chapter.

She was his! Now we just got to get her to be his again :) Great story it has so much going for it I am always excited to see when you add more to it. Please write more so I can hang on ever word again.
Author's Response: Don't worry, I should be updating later this week, if all goes well. Thanks for reading and reviewing.

I foung it so sad when he was thinking to himself
—and it was all because of him. He had been too weak to take her into hand, to teach her to obey him. Because of this, she saw fit to ride out into London, alone. In effect, he had allowed her to die.---
That he blamed himself for not taking his moms advice he was so against.
I am hoping you add another chapter soon its so good I have read this story twice tongiht.
Author's Response: I'm so glad you liked it. Thanks for taking the time to tell me so. :)

Ok, now, I can't wait to see what happened to Buffy and Spike when they first met... Poor William, So desperate, that he runs strait into Dru's arms (although it's a good thing, because it will allow him to see Buffya again.... in a long time!!!).
Author's Response: I'm glad you liked it, Alex. Thanks for the review. :)

My friend got me into this and now I'm hooked. I want Elizabeth to go back to her place in time and for Spike to see her dressed as Elizabeth and realize it is her the girl from his past and their love together. Yes I'm a hopeless Spuffy romantic but I can't help myself. This is the best story ever
Author's Response: Thanks, I'm glad you're enjoying it. :)

What a emotional rollar coaster! I'm tired just from reading it this had to be one killer chapter to write but I love you for it it was so good. Everything you put into this leading up to the part where Dru steps in was exactly how I hoped it would go without even knowing how it would go ---if that makes any sense. I'm am just giddy like it is sweeps week because of all the cool things that are gonna happen next and just to see what you have them do.
Sensational story here it had me at hello --- or first bite---or Williams first blush.
Author's Response: Although the chapter came to me easily (written in one sitting) it was difficult to do. I'll admit that afterward, I had to have a little cry over William.
I'm glad you enjoyed it, and thanks so much for offering feedback.

That last line gave me the chills. I think for a moment there, I completely forgot about Drusilla. I was so gripped by William's heartache, and Buffy being wrenched back into the present, that Drusilla was just a distant thought. Oh my, you've created quite a tale for us :)
This seems like the definite turning point in the story, and one that I just completely loved. Excellent work...I seriously can't wait to see how this will all play out now. Will Spike have William's memories about Buffy? How will Buffy react when she sees Spike for the first time after she gets back?
Keep those chapters coming :) This is one of the best, well-written fics I've ever read.
Author's Response: I'm glad you think so. Thank you. :)

Where do I begin? There is so much detail on every emotion William goes thru in this chapter I felt like I was pulled right along with him from his blinding happiness to rush home to her with his ring and flying into the house with a spring in his step to the complete devastation news of Anne telling him Elizabeth went missing. Just his utter confusion in trying to piece together what his Mother was telling him and in his gut he already knew. In the way you played it out it was like a darkness fell over him even before Drusilla or Angel had even got to him. I felt so terrible for Anne in having to tell her only child this news knowing he loved her.
And then with him trying to piece together what might have happened to her in a logical and reasoning sense knowing what they had shared and her love for him. It made perfect sense he'd go into shock and a little mad I mean for the first time William was really able to live and be loved and express himself fully to a woman who loved him whole heartedly. His blaming himself seemed the best natural reaction considering his background and insecurities and his anger was so much like the reaction of the monster / man he will become.
My favorite part in this was his realization that his life before Buffy was of a life of books and fantasies and once he had attained a life beyond his wildest dreams and found love he could not return to his old world of daydreams and stories and then he lost it. Because he had truly lost everything of meaning for him and could not go back to his former life when seeing what it really was like before her.
I was crying by the time I got to the part where he thought he had allowed her to die thinking that he himself had killed her. And Matthew was a easy target to vent all of his pain on although I felt so sorry for him already because I knew Matthew was going to blame himself. I thought for the first time here you saw William with his more Spike like nature that is to come.
This was a intense chapter to read I do not know where you draw your muse from but you have such talent in telling a story I hope the muse sticks with you your a phenomenal writer.
Author's Response: Thank you so much, Kalahara. What a nice thing to say about my writing. :)
As always, you have a wonderful understanding of the characters that make your reviews a pleasure to read. I hope you continue to enjoy the story.

Oh thank God you added more I was worried it would be a while and oh gosh after reading about Will/Buffy being split up my heart bleeds for both of them. Please continue to torture me the reader with more of this soon :)

So evil to leave me hanging here with Dru stepping in and William a broken shell but I love it!!!!!! Are you still going to have him turn Anne too? The groom will probably be his first kill and than that Warren guy or what ever his name was and all the horrible people who said bad things about Elizabeth I suppose. Sure they are humans but I now understand why William became Willain the Bloody.
Please please please pl.ease please please don't leave it like this I gotta know what happens to Buffy does she go back to the future? Or is she thrown into another time?
Author's Response: I'm glad you liked it. Thank you. :)

Well, this is just more then I had bargained for in sneaking some reading in a while my baby is asleep. I have got to say I am more then a little impressed with this. It's like watching Gone with the Wind or The North and the South because you grow to love all of the players. I'm not good with reviews but I had to say something after reading this last page because this is no ordinary story this is what Williams past would have been and you did Joss justice in this. OK I'll now just humbly beg you for more soon and say thank you for sharing such a magnificent tale
Author's Response: What a nice review, Switchblade Kross. I'm very flattered that your opinion of my writing is so high. I'm working on the next update now. Hopefully, it won't take too long. :)

I've always been a fan of Matthew in this he's like the loveable sidekicky Xander in victorian times. I knew William was going to fight with him cause of how in the before there was mention of him forbidding the staff in letting her leave. But it was hard to read hoe Matthew blamed himself and then went to check on the horses and talked with Elizabeths horse knowing it was the onthing thing that had witnessed her disappearance but would not be able to tell what had happened. It was cool how you included how the horse was upset and had been running like it had a tramatic event happen. This is just a great story I'm just addicted to Forward in Times Past.
Author's Response: I'm glad you liked it. Thank you. :)

Awwww nooooooo~~~~~~
Poor Anne and everyone to see Wiliam go thrrough this and having to sedate him from his own pain.
I wanted to punch the cook myself but in a way she is right. it is never easy to see make a charecter change or take them to a dark place and I was really impressed with this and how you did it and kept him in his role of being the man and how he would react in his own time. I'm biting my nails here waiting for your next page of this.
Author's Response: I'm glad you liked it. Thanks so much for the review. :)
