Oh wow!!! Raw emotion and lovers torn apart! And what a cool way to introduce in Dru at the end there it was all so perfectly laid out here. I know it's sad what happened but I'm dying to see their reunion and what happens with that!!! This is just fantastic how you made their world shatter and how they both have to try to be without the other.
You rock as a writer!!!

Those words kept echoing in my head while I read this because I too thought she would not leave him for any reason. I hope that even with being turned and the years without him that he goes without her that when they do meet up again he will remember that shewas his* and wouldn't leave him* if she could have been able to prevent it.

i found this story last night and had to force myself to stop after a few hours so i would get some sleep. but i came back to it as soon as i could. i'm completely hooked. :)
this is wonderfully written. i'm not sure what it is about the style but it feels Literary. I particularly enjoyed the occasional intrusion of the narrative voice - warning us of impending sorrow. well, maybe enjoy is not the word. :) appreciate in an angsty sort of way. anyway, i'll be anxiously awaiting the rest of the story.

Oh gosh it was sooooo sad I felt bad for everybody in this and then when he knew she would never wear his ring and he was sick from the thought of it.

Because he just knows shes gone and never coming back ok I have to stop my review here before I start crying here in my lunch break. Wonderful, fantastic, beautiful, original, touching, realistic, and true to the love of Buffy and Spike. I never have followed a story here as much as I have latched on to this one thank you for entertaining me.

What is going on with the site here it keeps not letting me read my favorite fic updates! Grr! bad Spuffy Realm bad!

Well anyway this was a tear jerker but I knew at some point it have to happen to get to the next part in the story but I loved how you wrote his reactions to losing her. Him rushing home and running up the stair to give her his ring and then the wave of dread over taking him and then the anger over the loss. Simply breathtaking this chapter I just wanted to jump in and give him a hug and tell him it would be ok. I am dying to see what happens next with him and Buffy.

Hey UB. Haven't reviewed for awhile (I know - spank me NOW for being a dirty rotten lurker) but felt compelled to tell you...you've brought this piece along perfectly. After so much story and character development we get to the end of chapter 27 and it feels like our story's only about to begin. I mean SERIOUSLY - Buffy's gone home (right?) with a true and sincere love for William, Dru's arrived (to turn him yeah?) at his lowest and most vulnerable moment, and the possibilities for what their future (please say impending) reunion could bring are just mind-boggling! Love, hate, lust, joy, denial, feelings of betrayal. They're all very distinct possibilities. Whatever you choose I just can't wait for the ride and must thank you for a consistently engaging read.

I absolutly love this story. I like the way you had William blame himself for her disapperance. I thought that he would have been livid with her and then would have ran into the arms of Drusilla. I've never read your work before but honestly you should be published or Joss should beg you to work for him because you just rock. I mean this blew me away and I mean blew me away Ive laughed and cried on reading this and feel like these are real people this site should name a award after you and this story it has it all.
I hope i catch your next page of this cause I want to see where Elizabeth ends up or if her time Spike reconizes her dressed as his lost Elizabeth I'm betting he freaks out.

This story is a 10 every reader here should and better read this.

This was hard to read and I'm sure harder to even write. Bravo to you in pulling off this chapter because it is pefect in how with her gone and thought for dead its like his soul was ripped from him even before anyone could turn him. And real love is like that it tears your soul apart.

I dont know about anyone else but I burst nto tears with him holding her nightgown. I thought Matthew would get a beating I really felt bad for him too. I love this fic case it sucks me right in. Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee put more up as soon as you can cause Buffy is still outthere somewhere!!!!

Author's Response: It was really painful for me to write that scene with Matthew, since Matthew is the character of my creation and I like him so well. Still, one can't really blame William. He was in agony at the time and looking for something to lash out at, and Matthew just happened to be the most likely target. First I love love love your take on William and how you tell this story and second you gave him every reaction a guy like him would have just as a human would perfectly.
Gru at the end was the most perfect part cause William has given up on being a man becoming a monster now is the perfect answer for him.
Now I'm dying to see how Buffy fairs on the other side.
