Hi I am not a great reviewer but I started this on Sat. and i took over from there really a pleasure to read it is not quite like any other story i have read and I hope you keep up with it cause i really wanna see where spike and buffy go in their love.

Author's Response: I think Spike (on the series) would have been much more helpful and supportive of Buffy had she given him the chance. He did try, but she always shot him down. Although things are hard for him in this fic, they aren't hopeless. Thanks so much for the review. :)

Well you blow me away once again with how talented you are in telling of this story. I am not sure I trust Xander on this like maybe he is playing nice nice for another reason I still wanna yell like Spike does that Willow and Tara need to get out there and get some jobs. I cant wait till the truth comes out on the cash and see what Spike's mystery money is coming from.

Ok total fall apart moment for me this line about like how long he has waited to be with her again. I cried -so sweet!



Author's Response: I don't think anyone mentioned those lines before; it's nice to know that they affected you so strongly. They did me as I was writing them. I'm sure this sounds insane, but it's so easy to slip into Spike's head and heart, to feel all the things he's feeling, so it can be emotionally draining to write a scene where he is upset. (Part II was pretty fraught with tension!) Anyway, now that I've prattled on, I'll thank you for the review. :)

He doesn't even care what she is saying about Xander hes just so focused on helping her it is so loving and kind in a Sp/willium kinda way. I love your version of Spike he makes me want to love him and forgive him for Buffys sake.
Please write more when you can.

Author's Response: That's exactly how I see him, too, as a combination of the two personalities. I honestly believe that Spike (on the series) was capable of being just as tender, but every time he showed vulnerability he got mocked or pummeled. In my fic, well, he's got a chance. Not very often does a story surprise and delight me and this one surpasses all of that and blows me away. Can't wait to read more of this and more of your writing its great.

Yay! A new chapter - definitely worth the wait. (Sorry to hear about your ankle - hope it's feeling better!) It's good to see that Xander is making an effort here. I hate it that he is always the jerk in most fics and I loved Spike's snark about the wood. And Willow *should* be paying rent and making an effort instead of pushing everything on Buffy. Still curious about the job - hope Spike isn't digging himself in too deep there.

Author's Response: I've got another four weeks or so until the ankle is well, but it's on the mend. As for the chapter ... thank you! Like you, I hate it when Xander is portrayed as a villain. He has a lot of faults and can be judgmental and hypocritical - but that's true of every other character in the buffyverse. Heck, most real people have the same failings sometimes. Spike was especially fun to write in this chapter. The bank scene came about unexpectedly, but once I had it written I had to include it. Also, his attitude with Xander. On the series, those two played off each other very well. A lot of sarcasm and banter, which is always fun to write. Thanks for the review! :)

OMG you posted - yippee - I could read this forever. Spike is trying so hard to make Buffy happy and goodness knows how she is going to react to all that he has done regarding the money Nice twist to have Xander be the first to try and accept Buffy's decision after all he really is in the same situation. Loved it as always.

Author's Response: I think one reason I've been dragging behind in writing the story (aside from the reasons mentioned in my a/n) is because I'm drawing near the close of the story and I really hate the idea of letting it go. I guess I could go on writing it forever if I could, and I'm glad to know that if I did I'd have you for an audience. Thanks so much for the review. :-D
