I loved that you made Buffy call Giles on a few things like the fact he himself has lied to her about what he does tell her about vampires always on the show I wanted this kinda thing to take place with the slayer and watcher and it never really happened to the degree this did. Great update and intense chapter.
Please more when you have the time

I always feel so repetitive when I review your story, but great chapter as always. I love the line "She was seawater to a thirsty man." That whole paragraph was a wonderful description of his feelings for her. It’s a little scary for both of them, though. Spike loses himself in that love (that doesn’t seem a strong enough word) and on Buffy’s side it’s a lot of responsibility to be the focus of all that feeling.

I liked her confrontation with the Magic Box group and I loved Anya's reaction. It was perfect.

I'm worried about Spike, though...

the visual on that has me falling to the floor and laughing this made my lunch hour and Xander being at a loss for words was priceless but I'm waiting to see what Willow says since she was kinda void in the scene there I cant wait for more I love your writing

Why is it I feel like Spike is working for the Cheese guy I keep picturing him in my head.
So many great parts in this update its hard to pick out the best ones but I will say Buffy just got me back on her team and Giles needs to come to terms with the fact he cant dictate Buffys life or calling and find a new role in her life as a friend and watcher.

Are they speaking latin? Im hoping this works out for Spike he so wants to be the man Buffy needs him to be its very much like when he was William and wanting to provide for his family. I loved seeing Buffy take a stand it was a long time coming and well worth the wait. Bravo!

Author's Response: The phrases spoken at the end are indeed Latin. Spike's new employer tells him that "time waits for no one." Spike replies with: "Now let thy servant depart," which is actually a quote from the Bible. (Luke 2:29, "He blessed God, and said, Lord, now let thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word.") Ha ha ha ha gotta love Anya she's not bothered in the least and even she sees Buffys point of view. Giles seems to be feeding off his hate of Spike makes me wonder what gives there I mean if Angel is so good what is his reasons to back that up?

Best moment for me was

“She’s over a thousand years old!” she persisted, focusing her gaze on him now, as well as Anya. “Spike isn’t even a hundred and fifty. You do the math and tell me whose tally of victims runs higher, and then you tell me why Anya is allowed to sit at that table with everyone else while Spike is considered so disgusting people are paying me to stay away from him!”

Awesome update. Your descriptive writing is always so beautiful. Buffy has stood up to her friends and defended Spike and now for the right reason he is going to do the wrong thing and betray her trust. I am officially sad but I still loved it and, as ever, I cannot get enough and am going to go read it again!

If he could have, he would have nestled into the soft bed of her temporal lobe or been held by the pulsing muscles of her right atrium. He would have become so deeply embedded that she couldn’t ignore him or run away; he would have been part of her..........Achingly beautiful! I had tears in my eyes at this! *applauds*

But this: “So, this is it,” he said slowly, his eyes narrowing behind the glasses he then removed to clean with a ferociousness directed at her. “You choose Spike—a vampire, an unrepentant killer—over your calling and your own wellbeing.”

“Yes,” she said simply. “I do.” ..........really had me bouncing on my chair!!! (and I'm in the office; people around are staring but I don't really care!!!)

However the ending sent a chill down my spine! After she has trusted him and stood up for him how can he - even by mistake - not do the right thing? It might be the only thing that can tear them apart at this point and it is such a shame!

I can only hope for the best (but after the perfection that has been the last few chapters I refuse to prepare for the worst!)

Author's Response: You picked out my favorite bit of text from the chapter. I was hoping that bit didn't seem to wordy, but I just had to include it because I thought it fit Spike so well. He's so hungry for love and so greedy with it. Maybe I'm weird, but I think the obsessiveness is sexy. Not in real life, I'm sure. That would become tiresome. But with Spike in fantasy...yeah, I like it. Thanks so much for the review. :-D ((hugs))

and finally spike and buffy are arriving at an understanding in their relation, she`s accepting everything of him, and he`s beginning to realize which she hopes of him and this way this accepting to him self, I hope that this has an effect in his self-esteem
but, always it has but, as I said before:
I hope that he does not make something really stupid to help her, something that she is going to blame him for it
and also I hope that the scubbies do not do something to harm the relation between spike and buffy, but suppose that this is much to request
I suppose that always must have anguish and drama, so that histories are interesting...

He has good intentions but i believe this job is going to be something that Giles can point out to Buffy and say, "see, he's evil!" I'm wondering if there is some climaxing moment coming up....another twist?
