Buffy go get your bad boy!!!!

Yesssssssssssssssssssssss! She's starting to see how in her going back and her leaving effected Spike and how if he did not still have a part of William inside of him how Williams old enemies like Archer and stuff would not have mattered at all to a complete demon. He is still inside of Spike.

Yes!!!! Shes going out and looking for answers of her own!

Excellent. As an opener the dream is inspired because it opens Buffy up to the possibilities of there still being her William within Spike. And like a girl with a mission, she steam-rollers over the obstacles that are a Watcher and a bunch of Scoobies and ends up in LA confronting Angel with her suspicion that he lied. Back in the day of their romance, hate, then romance: he lied. Angel's admission to this gives her tearful pause, but then it shows her a glimmer of hope. And Angel becomes desperate, for he sees where this is going. Spike. And to Buffy, now aka William.

But in her rush to embrace this smigeon of hope and turn it into her raison d'etre - will she not see that in reality what she reaches for will always, now, be Spike.
We already know there is the humanity of William within him, but predominantly he is Spike, coloured by the trials of his life and his death and the bloody history of his unlife. Just like in her dream, the man she comforts has blue, blue eyes but with fangs descending -

This is an epic that you have so effectively drawn with a compellingly original story of a very familiar theme.

I love it.

Spike's demon remembers his love for Buffy and he wants it to continue. Angel's demon remembers his love for Buffy and he wants to kill it and Angel thinks that he and Spike are alike! Spike can control his demon without a chip and without a soul for his love and Buffy can see both William and Spike as one - yippee. Please make Buffy want Spike - all he wants is to be wanted. As amazing as ever - thank you so much for making my day more enjoyable.

Author's Response: Angel is projecting onto Spike partly because of his own reactions to being turned, but also because he's hoping to deter Buffy from returning to Spike (William). I don't think he's necessarily trying to be an arse, but the results certainly make him seem that way, lol. Thanks for reviewing. :)

YES SHES FINALLY STARTING TO SEE THAT WILLIAM IS STILL IN SPIKE!!! i LOVE this story and am so happy that u updated. im so glad that she had that dream and that angel admitted that he was still the same thing. also im so glad that shes starting to see another aspect to spike and i hope that she jumps on it. also i really, really, really hope that buffy goes to spike and talks to him about his past and who he changed into when he was turned. PLEASE update as soon as u can, im DYING to read what buffy does next. THANX

The dream was an excellent , believable prompt for Buffy to finally be ready to explore the William/Spike dynamic. She's allowing herself to see William and Spike as one being.

The gang fervently discussing Buffy's medical results made my skin crawl. Is it any wonder she's pushing them away? She's a problem to be solved not a human being. Giles' dismissive “[a]s negative as her attitude...” deserved a kick in the head. This biting line sadly captured the gang's attitude toward Buffy: "They tried to stop her, of course, as they always tried to stop her from doing anything that wasn’t their idea." I'm delighted she's standing on her own, refusing their influence.

The conversation with Angel was a revelation. His admission that Angel and Angelus are one and the same was a surprise. I thought Angel would be cagier on the subject. I love how brave Buffy is. She's asking painful questions. Here's hoping the answers are leading her toward Spike.

Thank you for another wonderful chapter in this deeply emotional, vivid story. Your characterizations and dialogue are a joy to read.

I know that the Scoobies cared for Buffy, but a lot of the time their love was judgmental and controlling. On the show, Buffy grin and bore it for the most part. In my story ... well, who knows. I'm glad Buffy isn't letting Giles and Angel's words of wisdom sink in too deep. I guess she found living in the land of denial isn't working for her at the moment and she needs answers. And it seems the truth has now taken an advantage on Spike's behalf.

Hopefully we'll find out next chapter what Spike's up to. Me thinks he's doing a little soul searching...or drinking...or a bit of demon violence. I really don't know how much more he can take...after all, he is a fragile man on the inside.
