wow,not the kind of ending i thought would beim glad they got their song together great story sad

I cried so sad after everything they went through. Amazing story, though!

Gahhhh....I hate you for making me cry during this chapter. Yes I admit I actually cried, This story was really awesome and I loved reading it as much. You should feel honored, I've only ever read two stories that have made me cry! Keep up the great writing :)

i read this story awhile ago but before you changed the ending, although i don't remember what that ending was. this was amazing though. very sad and touching. i cried! nicely done! =D

I"m glad you got the ending you felt right about. But I can't say that I honestly liked this ending at all. I was hoping that you would continue with Spike having stomach cancer and possibly dying. I thought having Spike have such a terrible illness that could kill you was very different from any Spuffy story. Very unique. So, I was excited to read this in the beginning. Then you went a whole different way with it and I pretty much thought you ruin a would have been great story. So, I was please to see that you had written a alternate ending. I was just thinking that it was going to continue to have Spike being sick with stomach cancer. I was again disappointed that you didn't go that way again. It is so sad to see someone you love being so ill and end up dying from their illness. To see someone you love becoming weaker and weaker. To see their body looking so fragile and looking so close to death. Someone I love died from an illness and seeing them that way was so hard to see. As I try to remember them now. I always try to remember the good times and now those last few months/weeks of them looking so very ill. I guess that is why I'm disappointed on the way you with this. I just thought this was going to a very powerful and moving story about seeing someone you love dealing with a terrible illness. As sad as it is. It is life and very much real things that people go through. I was setting myself up to move to tears with either sadness that Spike ending up losing his battle to stomach cancer. Or happiness that Spike won his battle and him and Buffy can be together. Even though I prefer a happy ending I think I actually rather have Spike dying and losing his battle to stomach cancer. May have been sad but life isn't always puppies and rainbows. I also would have liked to think that Spike at least got to spend some time with Buffy before he left so in a way died happy. Well, as happy as someone so young can die. I also hoped that Buffy could have been pregnant with a little William or something. Again, I'm pleased that you got an ending you liked so much better. But I can't honestly say that I like this ending better. I actually think I prefer the the other ending. Or maybe I was just disappointed in the direction you took this story again. Disappointed that my moving story didn't turn out to be the way I was hoping. To me it is like watching a movie that was great already until the ending. The ending was so disappointing that it pretty much ruin the movie for you. Anyways, thanks for the good read in the beginning.

Author's Response: okay...so I would just like to state that YOUR story isn't my story. I get that going through something like that moving in a dissapointing way, i've seen my grandfather disappar before my eyes from cancer. This was not how i wanted this story....i wanted the tragic irony of Spike suffering only to survive it all and Buffy dying suddenly. I'm sorry to hear that it wasn't to you're liking...but i'm not sorry that i wrote it or how i wrote it.. Some would say it's the part of the movie you weren't expecting and almost make you're heart break at how unfair it was....i'm just saying

im actually really glad that spike's not noticing her shameless flirting!! it makes the story so much more interesting!
