okay......i have the strangest sense of humor. i giggled madly when spike came in with a broken toe. i mean, of all the injuries he could possibly have. i think it's soooo cute that he's afraid of needles. i am too. anyway........loved it sooooooooo much. yes, spike has a lot to learn but i think buffy is gonna have a fun time teaching him. he's in for some big surprises. first it's hate and then it's lust and then its all consuming passion and then maybe a few other consuming feelings in between (lol) and then its the big LOVE!!!! lol. i know it's gonna be so much fun getting to that point with these two. great job. tell your muse to take a bow. he delivered!!!!! more soon.

Love it! Love the snark, love the banter. There aren't enough good fics out there that play around with the early Spike/Buffy love-hate-lust relationship, so I'm really enjoying this. It's so rare to read a fic that keeps the sense of fun that the show had. Great job!

Brilliant update. I love this sooooo much. Spike certainly has a lot to learn about Buffy but it was very interesting that he should think "it was, after all, one of the things he loved most about her.....". OMG, OMG, OMG I just loved the reunion. It certainly was everything I was hoping for.
Its time for payback and payback it’s a bitch so I’m sure we are really going to enjoy the chapter to come.
I was really LOL with the syringe scene. The BIG BAD afraid of needles, I couldn’t imagine a funnier way to make Spike suffer just a little bit. Great with the one . . . two . . . and completely missing the three. Oh and the turn around and drop them comment, as priceless as the smack.
And that ending . . . oh dear lord! I really can’t wait to read more, and more, and more. Spike has to pay and Buffy needs to play hard to get. That’s the only way I think Spike is going to be interested enough in her to get to know her.
Please, pretty please make him suffer just like the end, make him see that he has to put more than two cents in this conquest, make it memorable.

The reunion was everything I could have hoped for! Buffy has gotten even stronger since basic training, and despite still wanting Spike like crazy, can stand up to him with nary a twitch. The dialogue was priceless, and little touches like the needle being a bit overly large than needed made this a hilarious read.
I don't know who's enjoying the fighting more - them, or us. I'm having a HELLA good time and can't wait for more!

Author's Response: Well, I'll be honest, it's not going to be any time soon. If I were writing this as a porn without plot, I'd say probably in a chapter or two. I'm aiming for a spuffy ending ultimately and right now our blonde couple has nothing but a small measure of mutual respect and a lot of attraction - not much to create a relationship on. I hope I don't lose you as a reader, but I can tell you with certainty they won't get together for a few chapters yet. The UST is what fuels their fire and over time, as they actually get to know one another a little better, that's where feelings will develop. Like I said, I hate to lose you as a reader, but if you want to skip reading any updates so you're not disappointed, I totally understand. Maybe come back around chapter 10 or so and check the progress. It won't be an incredably long fic by any means, there just isn't enough material to drag it out.
