God, this is heartbreaking! Obviously those kids were in way over their heads. But why did he leave without a word, a note... and for the next ten years? I can't wait to read more and hear Spike'S explanation. There will be an explanation... right? Soonish? Oh pretty please!

AWWW THATS SOOO SAD, I CANT BELIEVE HE LEFT HER WITHOUT EVEN WRITING HER A NOTE OR ANYTHING ELSE!! i LOVE this story and am so happy that u updated soooo soon, YAY!! i really wonder wat spikes going to say to explain why he left to buffy and wat theyre going to do about them afterwards. i really hope that they talk and that they work things out . also i hope that they get together and end up together and happy. I want to be mad at him, but at the same time, his mom died. Still this explains a lot, but there's still something else there. I can't wait for the next update. So happy to see this one updated again so quickly.

What a mess , great chapter, good to know what's fueling all their anger . He seems to be even angrier and more vindictive of the two ,is it because she moved on? Doesn't he see he didn't give her any other choice, or did he move on first? Update soon , i love this fic.

I get that Spike didn't want any added drama, but to assume things would go badly with Buffy wasn't very fair of him. She deserved a goodbye at least, who knows she may have even offered to go with him for support. Can't wait to see where things go from here. Great chapter.

I wonder if he every tried to go back to her even if it was only for explaining why he did what he did.

stupid him for leaving, but if anyone should be more pissed, it should be buffy, why does it seem that spike is the one who hates her more? he doesn't seem to care about her much, but he obviously did in the past, hopefully they'll both come to their senses soon.

Poor Spike, losing his mother so unexpected like that was just so tragic. :( I like that Buffy offered him some comfort though. Can't to see where things go from here. Great chapter.

Glad to see your back, I can't believe it's been almost a year either. Great update, after giving him solace and a place to rest he left her didn't he, well i don't blame her continued animosity ,but what's his problem ,guilt? I really need you to update this again soon and steadily, no more months and year pleae I really love all the angst in this fic and need to know what happens next.

Oh my, what a sad way to get the news that your mother died.
Didn't guess (or remember) that Buffy knew Spike so well, them having a history (I guess it was a short one because Spike ran away again).
