hi again - still enjoying your story. of course the date would be awkward, of course they'd want to revert to the sex, change is hard. but it's the intention that counts. and you still managed to make it funny with spike nonchalantly dusting the intruding vamp. so now onto the fighting, the OTHER thing they do so well.

And by the way, I'm glad I review before I read others' opinions. That last chapter's negative review was so unnecessary. You're one of the best writers around and besides, that's why they call it AU. You gave back just as good though - good for you!

What a wonderfully insightful assessment of Willow. Her behaviour is as worrying as ever and I am interested to see where you take that particular plot thread.

I love the way you express Buffy's thoughts in this chapter: the doubt; the fear; the thoroughly justified indignation all mixed in with a touch of her natural irreverance. Above all the hope shines through and is such a mood-lifter.

Author's Response: LOL, Holly tells me she's glad I've managed to finally write my animosity for Willow in a fic and that I've made it believable. Hopefully everyone else will think that last as well. Nothing worse than character bashing without a point! Buffy is seriously complex to write--particularly in this season. I hope that she does come across as hopeful--they really had a lot going for them if they'd had the smarts to look! I do feel more positive lately, and I am so glad you're reading! Thank you.

Loved to hear (read) Spike's thoughts (musings, worries) very much. And Buffy fears again to tell the Scoobies. She want have too, they saw ;-)

You've painted Willow as a real threat, and now that Buffy's shown the gang that she and Spike are friendly, there could be more than an intervention on the horizon. This was another entertaining chapter. The details of Spike's jangled emotions and wariness were nicely realized.

Great presentation of how un-fun the Scoobies can be, in contrast to the rosiness of Buffy & Spike's feelings.

Ooh, just read all four chapters and love them!! I like how you've made Buffy be the one to change their relationship at the beginning and have her try to start a relationship with Spike. Very interesting way of getting it started, too. And this ender....oh yeah, you know I can't wait for the next chapter cause I know I'm gonna want to be kicking some Scooby buttage.

The sisterly banter was fun :) And Dawn is more then okay with Buffy wanting to impress Spike / Spike being the 'new guy'.
Awe, how romantic! Midnight picnic :) But working for being together seems isn't easy for both of them, it's all too new, both are a bit unsure. Their relationship will still need some work but I'm sure (well I hope) they'll manage it :)

Granted Spike being an international arms dealer plot was dumb, but it is a completely fanon made up excuse that he did it to help Buffy with her money problems. At least acknowledge that you're just trying to whitewash soulless Spike.

Author's Response: Another rude Spuffy Realm reviewer *groan* Actually, there was never a good 'canon' reason for Spike to do something like that. And other than betting kittens, he wasn't shown to be doing anything more nefarious than pickpockets. What I find even more interesting about your review is the incredible ego you have in thinking you know my plot. You obviously don't read me, because quite often my fics start out fluffy and go angsty. I am not whitewashing soulless Spike. I've written two freaking chapters of a fic that could end up atleast twenty. And the irony--I fleshed out the idea for this fic with my beta and SHE was really disappointed because I expressed views that presumably you'd agree with and made plot points accordingly. It never gets any funnier to see someone be so incredibly presumptoous and judgmental. Thank you. I have a massive smile on my face.
