This story started off strong and has just kept building. The suspense and adventure are deftly handled, and richly detailed scenes paint a vivid picture. Each of the characters is lovingly captured, and their actions and reactions are justified and wonderfully drawn. The plot is fascinating and you keep adding unforeseen twists and turns.

Having a power mad Kennedy as the villain of the piece makes me happy, and I love the psychotically cheerful Nancy. The giant, polite demon has made me laugh several times, as has your spot on Andrew. Let's hope that Willow's mistaken about his not making it through this scrape. Giles and Buffy are sharp contrasts to these humorous moments. This sad, broken Giles is heart wrenching, and Buffy's confused melancholy about Spike has my heart hurting for her, too.

The beginning of this chapter, with Nancy and her hidden garden, was beautifully written, and I can't wait to learn what she has to do with the rest of the story. What a wild ride you've created here.

Towards the end of the show, I could totally sense that Kennedy was on the opposite path from characters like Spike and Andrew, and that power would quickly corrupt her if the stories had continued. I'm glad other fans feel that way, too. And I'm really happy that you think the Giles/Buffy arc is working. Next to her and Spike, I think that theirs was the most unresolved relationship in the series. Most of all, thanks for the kind words about my OC's! Wow! i am sooo enjoying this fic, the writting is fantastic! And the plot is obniously gonig to be in depth and exciting! I know its a good fic when Spike hasnt made an official apperance and im still reading! love it!

That was a mighty filled chapter. Andrew's Star Wars influenced dream was quite fun, not to mention Giles growing impatience with the whole mental text messaging. How perfect that Nurse Nancy was a creature wreaking havoc in the initiative, as if Spike didn't already have enough reasons to hate her. And Buffy finally knows that he's here... Room for a happily ever after, but I wonder what comes first for them... Really enjoyed this one.

I started reading this story a few days ago and I'm all caught up now. Not exactly easy entertainment, that. It's probably why so few people have left reviews -- you can get a little lazy when all you read is fluffy Spuffy high-school fics and some such...
But for this fic, boy is it worth the trouble... It took me a while to realise that even when I'm totally confused about what's going on, I can just read on and trust you to make things come to light farther down the page. It's pretty ingenious and inventive, and I like it a lot.
And Melvin is absolutely hilarious, as well as Andrew when he isn't unconscious.
As for our two love birds, well things don't look like puppies and rainbows for now, especially since Spike's about to die and Gilles is being his annoying I-know-what's-best self once again, but hey, I'm game for more. Much, much more. And soon, hopefully!!

Author's Response: Hi survenante. Thanks for writing such a kind review. It gave me a jolt to hear that you trust me in the plotting. It is kind of a compilcated plot, and I've tried really hard to stay consistent. Luckily, I've drawn all kinds of maps and diagrams and pie charts and such to help me remember the important stuff, so hopefully I can keep everything in one piece until the end. And I'm so *psyched* that you're digging it sans puppies and rainbows. After all, puppies pee on the floor a lot for the first few weeks, and you can't have rainbows without rain. I was never really interested in writing a instantly gratifying story where they get together on the page 2 or something and go see a movie, although I understand that some people really like that stuff, too. But I'm so happy that there some people out there who dig the rough-stuff too.
