Great opening. You have my utmost interest; this looks like it will be a very good fic. I can see both of them helping each other out exponentially and finding love as they get to know each other. I very much like the William characterization; I feel that it has room to grow, too, if you want to go that way. The Buffy characterization is also sound because she's not a bad person, just a cheerleader in the wrong (or "right") crowd. Looking forward to more. :D

Author's Response: Thank you! Yes, that's the plan, mutual helping and growth. I have ideas for William, I'll have to see where they lead. Yes, Buffy's not bad, just a little shallow at present.
