thanks for a great story. It was sad, but made for good angst to read of poor Spike's torture. I think you handled a lot of details well - like the toxin that knocked them out being absorbed throught the skin because they don't breathe etc... It seemed a bit out of character to have Buffy come so quickly to the conclusion that she loved him and was expressive about it right away, but it helped to balance the tragic things going on everywhere else in the story.
