You have countered his sweetness with Buffy when he tries to convince her of her own worth, with his merciless treatment of the girl in an alley. Her blood was necessary but her life was worthless to him.

Then he returns home and the demon reasserts his claim on Buffy. She has already met this other side of Spike, but is it a part of him that, if this treatment is going to be regular, she can embrace, adapt to - or ultimately fear and reject?

Powerful chapter.

So happy to see another chapter for this story (although I loved tempt me not as well). Poor Buffy with the insecurity - hope Spike helps her with that (in a good smutty way of course).

I think the answer is a resounding yes, you DO still have an audience. I had a feeling this was going to happen sooner or later, Spike hurting Buffy just a little to much after he's let the demon out to play. I also have a feeling that she's going to find out about the feeding too. She doesn't seem to connect the dots, feeding with killing the people he feeds from. But Buffy's not stupid, and eventually she's going to figure it out. Totally awesome chapter, I love the way you're moving things along. Can't wait for the next update!

Still here, I've been anxiously waiting the update and you didn't disappoint. I love how you're showing Spike's struggle between man and demon. I'm looking forward to more of this story. Loved the kink at the end.

everything seems to say that Spike is very happy at this moment, but I have the impression that Buffy does not feel equal

I love how, in this chapter, you've sharply contrasted squishy loving Spike with cold blooded killer Spike. Buffy reveals herself as either completely in denial or totally naive with this:

"Past that, she didn’t really see how being involved with Spike would be any different than dating someone who wasn’t a vampire. It was like dating someone with a medical condition that restricted certain activities – not really a big deal at all."

I think it's really important that you reminded us again of how - right now - Spike is still a ruthless killer. His tenderness and consideration are specific to Buffy - not a sign that underneath it all, he's just a big teddy bear who's been looking for a reason to stop killing people. Your scenes with Buffy and Spike lull us into that same complacent state that Buffy's in - he's so thoughtful, so sexy, what could possibly go wrong, etc. Spike's brutality with his latest victim is like a splash of cold water in the face; and if we're taken aback by it, I can only imagine how Buffy will take it.

Not only do you still have me, I think I'm more interested than ever!

Really pleased to see an update. A very good one at that and obviously I am still reading. Spike feeding was a bit of a shocker because I really thought that he would try and stop but clearly he is still a "snarling beast" and not only is a killing but he is still taking blood from Buffy herself. Can't wait to find out where you are going to take me with this one and I hope your block has gone.

Oh, you still have me hooked, and I bet I'm far from being the only one!!!
