Linden made quite an impression in this chapter, her conversation with William was very intiguing, her parting words to Buffy were also very interesting. Loved the storytelling scene, and the bits about Buffy and Faith adventures when they were children... lol! Wonderful update!

Not how I remember the story of Thor and his hammer but basically the same but I guess there might be a few variations of it out there. Keep up with the good work.

Great William/Faith interaction, it's good to see Faith looking out for Buffy and getting her strength back. I also like how Buffy is always so honest with William. There are no simmering misunderstandings between those two and I love that. :D Learning more about Buffy is always interesting too. Loved William's closing thoughts, he really has grown so much since he left the monastery. Wonderful update!

It's so heartbreaking to see how the situation is weighing on William, even knowing he has Buffy's love, he's torn between his love for her and for his mother. Unsure of his place while he remains with Buffy and the others. *sighs* Such a beautiful tale you're weaving. I love it!

Sorry for not catching up til now, but oooo their off to the Thing. I'm so worried, I don't want Tara and William to leave the Vikings! Ugh, I can feel major angst coming! Sigh... my heart went all warm and fuzzy with the "I love you's." I really hope they can stay!

Hey, me again...
I didn't get it for sure...I know Tara had to stay behind w/Willow (sure it's no hardship, haha) but I wasn't clear as to whether or not William got to go adventuring on the trip to the Thing (weren't those also called AllThing?) w/Buffy, and Connor, Faith and entourage? Or did he have to remain behind behind the Pale at the Hold?
I'm so enjoying this William, (even as we all often adore the badboy Spike as well) and enjoying watching his emergence to true manhood. I would like to see more of his skills and talents (the G-rated, Hold-friendly kiind!), perhaps emergence to warrior-hood somewhat (ie, something worth fighting for) as well as his scribing, clarking (clerking) ? and possibly even bardic talents (which kinda can go hand in hand w/scribing/historian/story-teller) ...this would be the perfect opportunity to develop bardic skills, for who better, as a people, to learn from (ie in light of JM's musical/dramatic talents...)...just some imput...

Author's Response: yep, they'll be more of william growing up as it were, he's going to the Thing. Faith is staying behind, Connor will speak for her the All thing was the big one, in Norway it was held in the Southeast of the country.

Oh, I am SOOOO glad to see an update from you!!!!
Sorry to hear you were sick, and I hope you recover well! I was sick a tad too, a li'l bronchitis from buddies chain-smoking on New Yrs Eve...AND dealing next w/ Mr. Fyreburned (aka now Mr. NOT-so-Frisky!)'s 16th heart attack & congestive heart failure---really really nearly LOST him...but he pulled another miracle outta that same place that Buffy apparently hides her extra stakes....! Should be leaving hospital's cardiac Unit next few days...SOOO, I have been SOOO jonesing for an update on this fic! I've been checking daily several times w/bated breath! My galpal/former roomie "Aislinn" even came up this w/e to ck on me & Mr. F....She is aware of the living history group you belong to and respects it a LOT. I will haveta get some pix of her in her garb sometime and show ya...I was explaining to her what you were doing w/this fic and that it wasn't the usual fluffy or crack-fic or pwp fic...you're sneakin' some learnin' in on us whether we all like it or not...
Hey, we've got a cold front here now where I live, it got down past 50 deg F last night!!! *snicker*...was cold 'nuff my buddy Aislinn from South Fla. was pulling out a sweater and pulling it on...me, I was in a sleeveless denim shirt, saying it felt good, and being 40-something said at this age a gal is NEVER cold, or cold enuff!
I am loving, no just eating up this fic, jonesing bigtime, and just can't wait til you update some more, & more!

Author's Response: that sounds COLD. sorry to here about your husband. hope the medics can help him. glad you are enjoying the sneaked in leanring. having trouble trying not to add too much. the kids keep rminding me its not a lecture:) As for the society, we've had some film work on TV for the BBC, Timewatch about the viking ship the sea stallion, and have been given permission to camp in the long hall at wychurst during the summer. i am really looking forward to that thanks for the review

All the women in the hall are really busy. Like a big spring-cleaning. Too bad indeed that both (William and Tara) have to go back because of it's the honorable thing to do... I thing they would be welcome.
So they are off to the Thing on horseback now.
