I enjoyed Buffy's conversations with both Conner and William. I find it interesting that no one has really asked Tara how she feels about going home... gotta say I'm curious to know how she feels. :D It was also great to see Buffy opening up to William, I love how their relationship is progressing. Wonderful chapter!

Well love the story and think it's fun that you have such great knowledge about the Vikings and their way of life, of course no one would be named Buffy or any of the other names from the show really but that's to be expected.

Exactly what year or there abouts are you placing this story? The Viking era was from about 850-1050 if I recall correctly and a lot of things are different at the beginning and end of that time. At the end of that time you have Knights on crusade and all that.

Author's Response: the Viking era actually is from about 780 onward and yes, it covers a lot of history. i have placed this story in and about 900, I needed Mercia strong and powerful and needed the changes that came about in the northwest at about 910. thanks for the review. i will update when i can

I fear the Thing will be hard for Buffy when Maggie gets to know the truth... not good. But she has the Thing behind her and her men too.
Oh my... Buffy has a lot on her plate. I think William understood her reasoning. I hope for her that they'll find a way to stay together in the end. Though I don't think Buffy will be happy in England, knowing the freedom she has now.

I love how every new chapter continues to teaches me more about the Viking lifestyle. :D And even if William was a bit taken back by all business warrior Buffy, I gotta say I like how strong she is. I also liked the Buffy/Conner exhange it really lightened up the tense mood. Loved the update!

Great update! I didn't even think about fostering. Duh! I'd forgotten about the term "Wolfshead"---historically, I don't know if I actually ever came across it, but I do remember it being used on the old(er) show "Robin Hood---The Hooded Man" (the one with the Clanadd soundtrack).
So all-business Buffy gives William a bit o' the wiggins? Hey, that's life in a warrior hall. Hard choices. Life or death. One big circle. You can dress him up, and even toughen him up a bit to look and act as a warrior, but that he's not---at least not yet. Yep, I could just see him salivating over the "writing tools"...ever the scribe and scholar.

Author's Response: It wasn't the killing that upset William, he was surprised at Buffy's attitude. but it is pure female fighting. Females tend not to go with displays of power, shouting etc, they put the B*s***d down and see to more important things like the kids. The nature of the beast. Update when i can, Guests for christams dinner, 3 kids, work etc will try and get in the way, but I will beat them all:)

And just HOW did you know I was jonesing soooo very terribly for an update on this fic? So glad to see one, and hoping for more soon, too.
So, Faith? Buffy's, or Angel/Liam's sister? Actual sis?
Is she w/Robin in this story? Was it Robin looking after Buffy's own holdings? If so, did something bad happen there, like invasioin (?) or was Robin/or someone abusive to her and her little bits?
Speaking of, I'd truly be surprised if Buffy in this setting would not keep a little bit, literally, of William behind with her (on purpose, or not).
Good to see the examples of healing ingredients.
