And this chapter started so good for Spike while he was dreaming :) Till he 'woke up'.
Buffy didn't deal so well with Spike when he was awake again. *sigh* I wouldn't call driving Spike away good. (You said she was slamming the door but it was Spike that was leaving, right?)

Yeah, that is where the chip fails: Spike can't defend himself against humans. He can be lucky that Buffy did check that nothing happened to him.
