Poor Spike: His mother knew about the abuse and didn't help him? That's very very sad. Gives William indeed the impression to be worthless.
When Buffy asked about Ethan it was too late. The clam closed up again. Better to let Spike go.

I've said it before - but - oh poor Spike.! horrible Ethan, and Horrible mother. I really hope he can let Buffy in a bit more. I think that his talking about a trauma like that will help.

I can see why Spike acted like he did, and I'm happy that he didn't begin to scream at Buffy like the last time. Glad to see that B seems to have learned something too.

I think it's about time Spike found a more effective way to deal with his problems b/c whatever he's doing is clearly not working for him, and this is really no way for a person to live. I hope he starts making real progress soon!

I've been so bad about reviewing over the holidays! I've really enjoyed the last couple of chapters, and this one is just awesome too.
"Buffy released her grip on his arm, but instead of letting him go completely, she let her hand slowly run down his arm until she reached his hand and squeezed it gently. “Did someone hurt you?”
Breaks my heart, it really does. I know Spike's not ready yet, but for sure Buffy's exactly what he needs to heal his poor abused heart. I'm just loving both of these characters, and the story.

The more I read, the more I want to do what Buffy just tried to do: wrap in her arms & tell it's okay. Excellent chapter...or as excellent as it can be when it talks about abuse of that magnitude.

okay, that's twice that spike has blown up at buffy without gvinng her a reason for it. of course, this time was more mild than the last. ummmm.....wow. yeah, i really hope buffy finds out what happened to spike soon. he needs someone. as much as he put on this big show of how he doesn't, he NEEDS someone!!! oh and of course as always, xander is a jerk. i ca only imagine what he's gonna say when he finds out that spike slept in her room cuz of course he's gonna find out and say something ignorant. great job. have a happy NEW YEAR!!! please post soon.
