I am confused on something hence my name. Why it is completely Spike's fault. Couldn't Buffy go to him and convince him that she really does love him. I mean I can see why Spike would have trouble believing her when he was about to die. Spike and Buffy are both stubborn. I just don't think it is right that Buffy puts all of the blame on Spike and not some on herself. I think they are both at fault.

Did I miss something?

Author's Response: Um...I don't know. Are referring to the whole situation - which, in canon, had Buffy ignorant of Spike's resurrection? Or, do you mean in terms of the story? The premise is that she knew nothing about Spike's return until after the show-down in LA. She was hurt and angry that he had allowed her grieve for him without at least letting her know he was alive. Had he come to her right away, they probably could have had it out, but the longer he stayed away, the more she assumed that he didn't love her any more. Don't forget, in this fic, she had no idea where he was or how to reach him.

Spike is going about this the wrong way. Buffy has no idea he's her secret santa. Spike should convince Buffy he's sorry instead. Can't wait to read more!
