I loved the snappy dialogue throughout the chapter, Spike and Buffy play off each other beautifully. ;) The misunderstanding about Lorne being Brazilian was hilarious... lol! And the closing scene rocked, it played out just like one of those old romantic comedies... Buffy's actions would make Doris Day proud. :D Fantastic update!

Spike seems to be using his upper half slightly more in relation to Buffy now although not where the "Brazilian" was concerned and that was so funny. Author's Response: I understand about getting the kiddies ready - boy do I ever.Yup, SPike is using his brain a bit more, but of course its a dual edge sword b/c the more he learns the more he wants and he still has some growing up to do, lol. Ah, competition.....but since Buffy lives with Spike, Angelus stands very little chance. And of course, she saw the type of guy he was right away.

Snooping Spike again......but he got her to open up...some.

Have a feeling Buffy blames herself for Riley cheating because Riley couldn't get her off. Something stupid like that, because it's obvious she was made to feel all at fault.
Does she have friends besides Cordy? And outside of work? It seems that Buffy lives a very lonely, solitary life. As Spike pointed out, she has the time.....has she at least spent it with girl friends over the years? (Noticed they'd both been cat people.)

Uh-oh, and now Spike has changed their plans to one room........such a dick! When he's impulsive, he really sticks to serving #1 still....I know you're not going to deal with the real-life issues this whole thing would cause, but he should still *think* about Buffy's honor besides his own libido. He's already gotten to know her more as a person than any other woman.

Yeah, the Riley thing - which will come out much later in the story - is a sad, sad thing and no fault of Buffy's at all - Riley's an ass imo - always has been. As for Buffy's social like??? No, she doesn't have much of one b/c of the long hours she works. SHe has Cordy and Willy and some friends she talks with from back home in CA every month, but she's a busy career gal - sad, I know. I so loved this chapter! The beginning scene with the introduction of Angelus (I already hate him btw, he's even worse than Spike could even dream of being), loved that Spike already knows Buffy enough to think she would never fall for Angel's ploys. And even though he knows that, he couldn't stop being jealous when he read of her appointment with Lorne. That was priceless. I adored the scene with the pics, how they could stop being antagonists and actually got along for a little while, until of course, Spike messed it all up again. What ever day works for you is fine with me. I just found this story and am enjoying it immensely. I just have a few thoughts.

Sexual harrassment suits may spell the end of a person's career, but they don't have to. I believe that a tape recorder in the purse can solve the whole 'he said' she said' aspect.

Plus, if Spike does what I think he's going to with that trip to Florida, namely have them 'share a room', (But pet, I asked for two!), Buffy's business rep is shot and she'll be the company ho. They saw what she was wearing to the office last week.

He also asked another secretary to make the arrangements so gossip is going to be all over the office. Not to mention that IS Buffy's job he handed to someone else, so people are going to be resentful and speculating about what 'jobs' she's really doing for him, IN his office all day long. 'Isn't that convenient'.

I really hope you resolve this. I like the sparkle of your dialog and that scene in the restaurant was perfect. Spike needs to understand how big a jerk he was and that Buffy wants to be the 'last' not the 'next'.

Author's Response: You're very right about sexual harassment suits and all it can do to one's career, and the tape recorder idea is of course I think the best idea one can use to prove it too. Concerning ML though and the fact it's a comedy, those type of RL situations aren't going to come into play - it would turn into a drama then and that's not my intention. It's like watching one of those old movies like Meatballs or the like - where you see just how wrong things are and that people shouldn't get away with it, but the movie doesn't focus on it. As far as Spike having Buffy do menial tasks like make the arrangements, he considers her more of a partner because she still is a sales agent. Having worked for sales agents myself, it's usually always the sec. that do those type of things for the agents, much like I did. And they don't spend all their time in the office together, not when they have meetings to go to as well as normal work, plus they don't always have the door shut either. As for Spike getting them a single room instead of two, well, the sec did get them seperate rooms. It wil be Spike that changes things and no one will know about it, but again - it's for the sake of the story and the comedy that will happen as a result of sharing a room. You'll just have to wait and read what I have planned for them, but know that Buffy's virtue does stay in tact and no one at the job suspects anything. I'm glad you're enjoying the story and the funny scenes like the fire in the restaurant, just don't think too much on the RL issues because SPike will come around on his own and of course this story isn't written with the intention of attacking things that could go horribly wrong if this situation were real.
