But then, I can't think of any of your fic I don't adore.
You write a wonderful Spike. His younger age in this is interesting, and I look forward to to see how you'll pique out interests with that.
Why, he'd barely be out of college, with scarcely any time for practical experience....c'mon, fess up---have you been secretly watching "Secret of My Success" on a DVD loop again??? (I know I love it...and somehow this reminds me of it a bit, tho' I understand JM is a leetle taller than MJF. But just a little.)
I love the way you write his bulldog tenacity---no, perhaps that's not even right---maybe that of a more hyper Jack Russell terrier. Grabs on, and hangs ON.
And the lovely thing is, his obsession & perserverance to the chase have already crossed over, past attraction, to possessiveness. Which implies that he wants her for longer...longer than just the win, for further than the finish line. He just doesn't know, it hasn't caught up to his brain & conscious mind yet, that he has already fallen HARD for Buffy. Say goodbye bachelorhood, goodbye former life.
And she's definitely attracted too...she likes the dominant man, but not necessarily likes a dominating personality. She doesn't want to give into either. She doesn't want to eat that crow. (MY advice is LOTS of ketchup!)
So he's also a spoiled rich boy. But the good thing is, he realizes it as a possible shortcoming. But come on! $4200 for a PEN????? I know life in the city is expensive but wow!
You've given us yet another thing to avidly look forward to, waiting with ever bated breath for the latest update from you!
My only complaint so far is, you didn't leave them in that elevator near long enough!!!

As for Spike's age - add in his genius status and I suppose the difference in British education and it's suffice to say he excelled above the norm. It becomes apparent later. He definitely wants Buffy, in the worst of ways, and as time goes on, even he doesn't see how much that is and for the why and how long, *winks*. He just needs a bit more growing up - which will happen, I promise. Buffy is admittedly attracted and perhaps a bit scared b/c she recognizes his personality is similiar to her own - a combo that makes their lives difficult yet interesting throughouth the story. LMAO on your comment for not leaving them in the elevator long enough - but I felt Buffy was tortured enough, both by Spike and her own thoughts, giggles.
