First of all, I like to thank you for taking the time to reply back to me.

For me, I personally am tired of reading Spike the ass and Buffy the "saint". Spike learning the errors of his ways. Buffy the sweet one who he changes for. Please Buffy and come save Spike and make him a better person. He would have never be a good person without saint Buffy.

I wouldn't be as tired of these stories if authors took the time to write it the other way around. Where Buffy is written so bad that readers don't like her. Not that I want to see bad Buffy and innocent Spike. But I would love to read an AU story where Buffy has to redeem herself.

You say that there are some AU stories out there like that and other authors have told me the same thing. But I have trouble finding them. So, if you could please list me some of the stories out there like that. I would be most grateful. So, far all of the people I asked have never listed them. I wonder if it is because they don't want to or because there are no stories like this. I don't want stories where Buffy is a little bad. I want her terribly bad like some of the stories have Spike.

You also say that writing Buffy a man-eater is like Faith. I have that seen excuse so many times. But this is an AU and people have no trouble writing Buffy the complete opposite from her character on the show. She would not be like Faith. She would be like a woman who treats men like things and uses them for what they can give them. talking about gold diggers and such. Also, why write Spike a womanizer if you want to keep characters in canon? Spike is by far a womanizer. If anything he is the opposite. The only woman he uses was Harmony. That is Harmony we are talking about. But Dru and Buffy used him so much. So, why write Spike as the womanizer. I personally think because most authors are women. It is better writing the man as the ass and the woman the sweet one who he realizes that he is beneath her and must change into a man she can loved.

Sorry, to hear that your husband is away. That must be terrible. I like stories that have nice sex scenes. I am just not too crazy about stories that are just about sex. Not that your stories don't have plot. But I love your writing and it would be nice to see a story that isn't about sex with them at first. Part of loving Spuffy, Is that there was a lot of sexual tension between them. But I always believed it was more than that. So, when I read stories I like seeing the soft side of Spuffy. The loving side which I find more appealing. Like when Spike says to Buffy that holding her was the best night of his life. Not the sex but being that close to her was. That is why reading Spike as the womanizer is hard to do. Cause when I think of his character from the show. he so is not a womanizer. He is love's bitch. A man who does anything for love. Not a man who uses woman. If anything it is Buffy the one who uses the men who love her. Riley and Spike.

So, if you could please direct me to those AU stories that have Buffy terrible. I would be most thankful.

I thought this story was going to be a little angst. Now, I read that you are planning to write Spike a major ass. Yeah, going to pass on this. Have had enough of these stories. I mean I might tried reading this. I might be able to stomach another one of these stories.


Author's Response: No problem sweety, I always answer reviews. It sounds like you’re having a hard time finding a fic that suits your particular predilections. It’s not that authors don’t take the time to write things the other way around, believe me. We, I, take a lot of time to write, hours in fact, but it’s to write things the way we see it rather than what readers want. There are so many readers here and on other spuffy sites, that it would be impossible to please everyone and a fool’s job to try and take that on. I write what’s in my head and it doesn’t come easy or fast by any means. When I post, I know what I create isn’t going to tickle everyone’s fancy and I’m okay with that. Call me dull, but I prefer the classic stereotype themes and it probably is because I’m a woman, lol.

As for other stories out there that may, may, contain what you’re looking for, the only 2 I can think of – off the top of my head - is Wish I was Your Someone by beasleysmom and Silently Broken by Suzee. You can also try using the chat board on the home page here at TSR and ask around and/or search LJ communities centered around spuffy as there are stories that authors only post there and no where else. If you can’t find anything among those sources, my only suggestion would be for you to possibly consider writing one yourself, the process can be grueling but fun as well.

To me, meaning just me personally, a man-eating Buffy is a Faith type personality, it’s not an excuse sweety, that’s just how I see it, just me. I don’t ever intend to write a really bad Buffy that needs redemption – perhaps one who makes mistakes and needs to earn forgiveness as in the case of TE but that’s as far as I’ll take it.

Also, please go back and re-read my previous response from ch 2. I never said I want to keep the characters in canon or even as close to canon as possible, I said I try to keep a certain level of canon in their personalities. As with any AU, they’re going to show differences in action and responses to situations that are fictional which subsequently requires an author to ‘make it up’. True, most authors here are women, but there are some male ones as well. You can try out stories from lostboy, TestaALT and drkdevin. Those I know for sure are men.

Beyond that, I still believe this isn’t the story for you and would be more than likely a waste of your time. You should consider taking up writing and perhaps simply write what it is you want to see, your own vision and what speaks to your heart the most. Though it is a serious investment of your personal time, it’s also a very a rewarding experience you wouldn’t regret. Take care sweety and good luck on your fic hunting.

Poor Buffy! No promotions, although I am guilty of wanting Spike to drive her crazy by being her boss! Can't wait for more.

Woah, what a jerk Spike's being. He is showing that he acknowledges how competent and smart Buffy is, but he still gets his kicks ordering her all over the place. He must know how much it sucks for her that she should have gotten the job. Buffy’s a bigger chic than me, because I’m not sure I could handle a situation like that too well. I know she’s got finances to think about, but to have to swallow her pride that much must be truly difficult. The sparks are exploding all over the place though, and that’s so intriguing. I am guessing that Spike’s going to move her into his office somehow, and it should be interesting to see how Buffy handles that. I can’t wait for the tables to get turned on him though. He’s used to having whatever woman strikes his fancy and so right now Buffy’s just a conquest. But, I hope soon Buffy gets some of her own back here. Your storytelling is amazing as always. I am thoroughly enjoying it and I can’t wait to see how Buffy turns this around.

Wow! This second meeting was as equally explosive as the first one, the Spuffy sparks are definitely flying. Loved the dialogue, and the glimpses into Spike and Buffy's heads throughout the chapter. Fantastic update!
