Great chapter! I particularly love the way you contrasted Buffy's experience with William, with her experience with Angel. It made a lot of sense. I really wonered where Buffy's mind was at this point, concerning Angel, considering this is Season 2 Buffy, the Buffy who has just gone through the hell of losing Angel. Everything you had her feeling and thinking made absolute sense though, and really validated her feelings for William, in spite of what she'd just been through with Angel. Way to salvage the spuffyness in a very difficult situation! Very nice.

Season Two 'canon' Buffy really can't be written without a consideration of Angel, since he was such a big part of her life, but I think she's definitely maturing in this situation and William is helping her along. After reading waaay too much spuffy what I'm really looking for is something well written, non-juvenile, and unexpected. This story seems to be all of those things.
I love it when authors find some twists and aspects that haven't been explored. I love that feeling of being off-balance from what I know to be true from cannon. This story has that so far and I want some more please.
So go ahead. Make it hurt. Make it hard. Don't take the easy roads and...surprise me. Oh. And give me that happy ending. Because...no ending would equal great pain. And pain sucks.

This twisted, turned around reality has a lot of kinks to be worked out for the characters, but in the end I'll hopefully give you that happy ending you're hoping for. But no, the road won't be easy.
