Oh, the First Evil wants Spike to get his soul... (if that's what you're hinting at). That just makes it sound like a bad idea. I so don't want to see Spike going through the crazy torture and mind control like he did in S7! Can't we just make him miserable and guilty and a little crazy, but not the First's puppet? I wonder just how far Buffy is going to go with her revelation, whether she leaves Sunnydale or not to go after Spike. Great chapter and I'm really looking forward to more!

I wonder whom Spike did see... almost as if he was in a thrall. And who has an interest that Buffy dies.

Wow!!!! Great first chapter and it sounds so interesting. Stories where Buffy gets a clue are some of my favorites. I love it when Buffy realizes how good Spike can be if someone just believes in him.

Oh good start!! I'm hoping for lots of good chasing done by Buffy. She so deserves to have to work for this relationship. I always meant she was a bitch to him - and I love the idea that she can't just choose one thing and expect to get it right away.
