Waiting to see what happens when "they" see Buffy and Spike.. I don't have good feelings about it .. They are not going to be able to accept any changes.. especially about Spike..

Thanks for updating this entertaining and emotional story. I like that it was hope that has freed these two. I had wondered about the bite and Spike's possessive words, but didn't realize it was the key that unlocked the gateway out of Buffy's cell. Here's hoping that there aren't more obstacles in their path.

Of course Buffy wouldn't be feeling pity. Hearing how Spike's suffered would push her into righteous anger for both their sakes. Larry's been screwing with them both and it's fun and funny for him. I'd forgotten what a nasty piece of work Larry was. He won't be missed.

Love how you reminded us of the Kenny story. Love how you had Buffy get so mad that she kicked Larry's ass. Loved how noble Spike was being and her knowing his sacrifices. Can't wait to read how they get back to Sunnydale and beyond.

Ah Larry was mean, telling all about Spike's trials. He had his fun. I'm glad I was right about Buffy's feelings though, she wasn't disgusted of Spike.

Bravo, Holly. Good chapter, no sign of your writer's block because, well, there was Buffy and there was Spike. Even bad ol' Larry was just as he was at the beginning. And at the last? There was Buffy, in true Slayer form: put emotions and thoughts away for later because NOW there is a demon to see to .......

And in so doing, Buffy effortlessly picked up that long-forgotten mantle of bravery and determination and clears away the obstruction in front of herself and her vampire.

I've read through this whole story today and... WOW!!! What a story!! The plot is incredible,the writing so brilliantly good (I'm envious of how good a writer u are) and the portraying of Spike and Buffy is wonderful. I really hope there will be an update soon. The cliffhanger u just ended with is almost unbearable. I just want them to get back up.

What more is there to say other then; I loved it!!:)

The race from the consuming nothingness was vividly drawn and breath catchingly tense. Buffy just knowing the river would lead nowhere added another level of tension, making me wonder if she were going to balk, missing the opportunity and plunging them even deeper into this hell. When they both emerged on the other side of the river, I let out a breath of relief.

Larry's not really a surprise and I'm sure he has something nasty in mind for these two, but giving Buffy tangible proof that things are changing should make her even more determined to make things change more. This is a real light at the end of the tunnel, and this time I hope it's not an oncoming train.

Thanks for another excellent update in this entertaining and emotional story.
