Joyce did well... now that she knows about Buffy being the slayer she can fight for Buffy's rights too. Not paying for the house? Good. Even better having an emergency fund. :)

I love this story..just read both chapters. I love Joyce in this and how she calls it a "wedding". Good for her getting all those benefits from the stupid Council. And Spike's dossier was really funny, loved the bit about purring. Can't wait for Buffy to come home and meet Spike and find out what her mom has been up to.Great story, update soon please. :)

I can not tell you enough how amusing I found this chapter!!! I am glad I was alone when I read this because I laughed out loud on more than one occasion. Can't wait for the next chapter, and REALLY can't wait to see what Buffy has to say about her upcoming 'marriage'.

Author's Response: Thank you! I may have modeled Joyce a little bit after my own mom. I always thought it was a bit strange that here was a stronge woman who didn't get enough of a chance to prove it. Joyce is one of the main characters in this fic. I'm glad you approve of my take on her character.

I like the start a lot. This was a lot of information for Joyce and Spike in a short time but Spike seems to be willing to help.
Saw on with Spike as a pet (a real pet vampire) once but this one is on hiatus (WIP). I hope so see more chapters of your story soon :D

I'm a little unsure about how an unwilling captive like Spike could ever WANT to help someone who is going to buy him, and how cool Joyce is with it, but the idea of the calim being used to keep Buffy alive sounds very interesting. Now that Spike has heard all about Buffy from her mother, I wonder how he'll react and what he'll say to her. Can't wait to read more. an intriguing beginning.
