I so knew (guessed) it - Xander is Spike's roommate. He can't they much about Xander dating Cordy then. Especially when Spike wants to continue to see (date) Buffy.

I think it would be a great idea to continue this fic. I'm certainly going to look out for any updates. There are so many possibilities with non-canon fics.
