I'm already enjoying the set up in this beautifully written start. Buffy seems to be moving in a semi-dream state in the beginning, allowing her instincts to lead her to this charming beach town.
You created a haven of calm and the dream was a jarring brush with reality. Of course Buffy would shoulder the blame for Spike's death. It's what she does.

I'm really enjoying this one, plus it helps to soothe my "post-"Chosen" fic-jonesing! I can't wait to see where you are going with why Spike can't stay for good/his time w/Buffy is limited, & why he can't 'vamp-out'/go into game-face, can go out into the sun, & generally isn't being very vamp-like. Also, what was the thing about being unable to taste? Will Spike appearing in Angel's office (AtS, S05) 19 days after closing the SD Hell-Mouth come into play in this fic? BTW, you're really conveying the feeling of the more relaxed pace of a get-away/isolated seaside vacation/retreat very well. It feels unhurried, paced, peaceful; I can practically hear the ebb & flow of the ocean as I read, in the background. Thanks again, like I said, am really enjoying it.

I loved this sweet, playful chappie. It made me happy to see them so carefree and Spike enjoying himself. :) And it was so nice to see Buffy just say ILY without thinking about it, just natural.
This makes me happy and sad, knowing Spike will be gone. I can't wait to see what you have planned.

This is quite enjoyable. It has the atmosphere of an English mystery novel but spuffy which makes it doubly awesome, the genres marry well...buffy is practically Dagliesh like in this one.
