Even though, in typical Buffy style, she just walked away when she didn't want to deal with something, I was glad she called Willow and asked for help. Loved how Willow compared her relationship with Tara and her and Spike's relationship. I never saw it that way before. Great chapter. Oh, despite me not reading season 8, I'm enjoying your choices for this story.

Nice knowing someone will catch them. ;-) Yeah, we've seen Xander and Anyay's relationship presented as dysfunctional in fan fic, but I haven't seen anyone explore how Willow treated Tara - you know, with the mind violation, and the wanting Tara to sit back and shut up if she ever challenged Willow, etc. So glad you're enjoying the plot too!

Loved their interactions. Despite all their time apart, the UST is still ever present. Which in turn causes awkwardness. Great chapter

Love this story. Great plot, dialogue & characterisations. Certainly one of the best WIPs in a sudden crowd of really good ones.
I thought Buffy took Spikes return well! Maybe there will be a delayed reaction to deal with her rejection issues? Or maybe she has just matured and got over it after 40 years! Really enjoying it. Thanks for writing.

Author's Response: Thank you so much for your generous review. I agree about the great stuff out there right now. I specifically recall telling my beta that there seemed to be a renaissance of sorts happening right now in the world of Spuffy Fic. That you include my fic in that is.. well, thank you! Buffy's reaction to Spike is interesting. I think sometimes us fan fic readers forget the TV characters after we've read so much fic. There has emerged a distinct Buffy and Spike of fan ficdom who are actually a little different from the TV characters. For one, fan fic Buffy in post-Chosen stories is almost always "mourning her vampire" when I don't think the TV Buffy would have done it quite like we suggest so often. Look at Season 8. I do, and I see that Joss' opinion of Buffy's feelings for Spike is somewhere closer to the TV show than fan ficdom, but sitting in between them. Anyway, it has also been forty years where Buffy has been operating as if he was dead, and you're right, she's definitely matured. She' thinking before she's acting. She's being a bit more careful about what she does and what she betrays.

It's plain to see that Buffy doesn't want Spike to leave any more than he wants to::)) Very sweet. It sounds like they could both do with a bit of sweetness in their lives, especially when it's with another person who knows you as well as they know each other.............your fight scenes with the other slayers was brilliant...brutal, but brilliant. Those things are pretty gruesome and are turning slayers into hamburger. I'm looking forward to you fleshing it out and finding out why they're hellbent on destroying all the slayers..........Is there a mastermind behind them? Using them to "slay the way" so to speak, to get rid of the slayers, so they have no resistance to conquer, to carry out their plans? Looking forward to the next chapter::)) Well done! Great read! Loved it!
